I’m sharing #lobsterworthy moments in my life as part of a Red Lobster sponsored series for Socialstars™
Did you know that April 23rd is Lover’s Day? What’s more lobster worthy than that? I had my own Red Lobster date night recently, and I can’t wait to tell you about it. I bet you’ll want to head there for a romantic dinner for two yourself!
Date Night at Red Lobster
It is not easy to get a date night these days with 2 small kids. Thankfully, my neighbor offered to watch the kids so we could go out for a few hours and enjoy ourselves! We chose Red Lobster for their amazing appetizers. My mouth was watering just thinking about them! We had been before and really enjoyed their stuffed mushrooms, so this time, we opted for 2 appetizers because we couldn’t decide. But first we ordered one of Red Lobster’s signature cocktails to start. With the warm weather on the way, it seemed appropriate!
If you have not tried the Lobster Punch, you are missing out! A smooth and fruity drink, it reminded me of sitting on a beach somewhere soaking up some sun. You would think living in Florida I get to do that all the time, but I don’t. This drink totally made me want to book my next beach vacation! Now for the appetizers.
First up, Langostino Lobster-Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip. I love a good artichoke dip and this was to die for, with chunks of Maine lobster and artichoke. It was served with red and white corn chips, which made me think of the lobster that was in the dip. The chips and the dip were warm!
We also ordered the Sweet Chili Shrimp. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to think until I had my first bite. It came served with wedges of lettuce that you used to wrap the Sweet Chili Shrimp in. I was surprised at what I was tasting! The shrimp, smothered in the sweet chili sauce was so good wrapped inside a cool lettuce leaf.
Between the 2 amazing apps, I wasn’t sure we had room left for our main course! I had ordered the Salmon New Orleans and my date ordered the Lobster Scampi Linguini (which is what I had almost ordered, so I am glad he did!).
The sauce my salmon dish was smothered in was everything I had expected. I love spicy foods, only this wasn’t spicy but had a kick in the after bite. Not only did it taste great on the fish, but I used the excess on the plate to dip my mashed potatoes and broccoli in.
Then I got a bite of the Lobster Scampi Linguini (of course I had to share then my salmon). They were 2 totally different dishes and yet so good! You know that point when you are full you really shouldn’t eat anymore, but it is so good you just can’t stop? Yes, that was me. It was just so good; I couldn’t leave any on my plate for later.
Our waiter was very attentive as well. I always have a great dining experience when I go to Red Lobster. The seafood is always so fresh and prepared well; it’s hard not to make a trip every week for my seafood fix!
If you have not been to Red Lobster lately, you need to head on over! It is a great place to enjoy a date night with your significant other. Hopefully, you can leave the kiddos at home!
