What does Cobalt mean to you? Does it invoke a certain emotion? Remind you of a beloved childhood memory? Does it make you want to dive into the ocean and catch a wave? Cobalt is one of the most popular and timeless colors for a reason: it invokes some type of feeling in just about everyone!
To me, Cobalt reminds me of the cruise I took back in 2010 with my son, aunt, uncle and cousin. Specifically, it reminds me of the water in Grand Turk, one of the stops we made during the cruise. We spent the day on the beach before hopping on a smaller boat to go swim with the stingrays. The water in Grand Turk was so deep in spots that it was Cobalt blue. I still remember how cool it was to hold a stingray and get a “kiss” from one! My son thought they were neat but refused to put his feet on the ground. Still, he says that was his favorite stop of the cruise.
Whenever I see Cobalt, I think of those eight days that I got to spend with my little boy, completely disconnected from the outside world. Now, he’s 9 years old and getting to the age where he’s just too cool for mom! He actually mutes his microphone on his XBOX when I walk into the room, even though I’m totally a cool mom! But I still have the memories of him holding on to me as the stingrays swam all around us in Grand Turk.
