Shopping for others isn’t easy. I never know what to get them and I am always afraid they won’t like the gifts. Of course I could buy the gift and provide a gift receipt where they can exchange. But it can be disappointing! I don’t want to see a disappointed face when they open the gifts! Usually I buy gift cards for my nephew and best friend! This way they can buy whatever they want!
Recently, I discovered Cardswap.ca. It is a Canadian site where you can buy gift cards from the major retailers. You earn rewards (SwapPoints) for each gift card purchased. Those swap points can be redeemed against another gift card. If the card you are looking for is not available, you can add it to your wishlist and you will be notified when it is available. You can also sell your gift cards! Think of all the gift cards you got and you don’t want to use! You can sell them and get something you really want.
Cardswap.ca partnered with the major retailers: Esso, BostonPizza, Tim Hortons, Cineplex, Shoppers Drug Mart and more.
How to buy gift cards on Cardswap.ca
I went to the category: Buy and I clicked on the section: Available cards. I didn’t refine the search by category because I wasn’t sure what to buy. But if you want you can choose the category you want: Department, electronics and more!
A large selection of gift cards was displayed. There were also nice holiday combos: A Best Buy card combined with Chapters Indigo! Then a gift card of Boston Pizza caught my attention! It’s been over a year I visited this restaurant. The kids love it because they have animal shaped macaroni. I thought it would be a great treat for our family during the holiday. Besides they had a SwapPoint bonus of 1,000 swap points ($10). The swap points differ from one card to another. For a $50 gift card, you can get 100, 200, 300 or more swap points!
So I clicked on the $50 Boston Pizza! It was an easy transaction. Within minutes, I finished. There are no hidden fees, the shipping is free. You can pay via PayPal, or credit card! How easy is that
