Peanut butter chocolate Madeleines (French Butter Cakes)? I bet you are drooling now and with reason. These bites are soooo good and melt right in your mouth. The combination of peanut butter and chocolate is already heaven, but add in the flavour of the cake and it’s over-the-top amazing! Of course, you would need to use my favourite new spread to make this recipe a success: the Reese Peanut Butter chocolate spread! These little jars are our new must have in our pantry! EVERYONE in the family loves them. I have been testing quite a few recipes lately, and ALL of them were Ah-mazing!
As an ambassador, I will be sharing 3 yummy ideas in the upcoming 6 months! The peanut butter chocolate madeleine recipe is the first one. Make sure to come back for the other two.
Let me tell you why I chose to make this Madeleine recipe! By now you know that I am French Canadian, and I love love baking French desserts! It reminds of my grandmother (she was also French Canadian) who used to make these little sweets every time we visited her! I used to raid her pantry as soon I walked in her house, looking for new desserts! Madeleines were my favourites. The original recipe calls for lemon zest. I replaced it with Reese Peanut butter chocolate spread! Now let’s see how you can make this yummy snack, dessert or breakfast or any time of the day treat!
Reese Peanut Butter Chocolate Madeleine recipe
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoon of Reese Peanut butter chocolate (melted)
Make it
- Preheat the oven to 400 °F
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes
- With a whisk, gently fold in the dry ingredients. Fold the butter in the same way.
- Separate the batter into 2 bowls.
- In one bowl, add the melted Reese Peanut Butter chocolate spread.
- Cover both bowls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Butter and flour a small madeleine pan. Don’t worry if the batter is not liquid! It is normal.
- Now the creativity begins. You can either fill the madeleine cavity with the peanut butter chocolate batter! Or mix both! I mixed both to have those cute lines of white and black. For example, I filled half the cavity with the white batter and the other half with the Reese one.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the madeleines are lightly golden brown. Remove from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack. Repeat with the remaining of the batter.

These treats turned out delicious: soft and moist! The Reese peanut butter chocolate spread was an awesome addition as it added that rich flavour of peanut butter and chocolate! My kids loved them to pieces and they even topped them with some of the spread! It is a great after school snack: it will fuel them until supper! It can also be a delicious gift idea (the holiday season is around the corner). Just put them in a nice holiday box and you are all set!
