Heart-Shaped Cake Recipe For Cooking with Kids

This cake recipe is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and to introduce cooking with kids as a fun and education activity. The Heart-Shaped Cake recipe only takes 15 to prepare, bakes in 40 minutes and remember to get a heart-shaped mold!

Valentine’s Day Pizza
If you are looking for a truly unique dinner idea, then you have to try this Valentine’s Day Pizza. It is tasty and you can either shape the dough into a heart yourself, or a better idea is to simply buy a mold that is in a Valentine’s Day shape. I used the heart shaped cookie cutters! The kids had fun during this cooking activity! It can be quite messy with the flour but it is so much fun! See the pictures below.

I found the recipe on Bread World and it is very easy to make.  The only thing you would do differently is to use a heart-shaped mold instead of a round pizza pan and add your own ingredients. I used shrimps and pasta sauce. It is even freezable so you can make it ahead of time and surprise your family for an “I love you” type of dinner!

  1. What cute ideas! My kids would love to help make all of those – and eat them too! I never thought to cut pizza dough up into cute shapes like that, it’d be a big hit in my house and I know those cookies wouldn’t last long here.
