It can be hard to find St. Patrick’s Day decor to brighten up your home with. Many stores don’t carry much of a selection, if they carry any selection at all. Therefore, pickings can be slim. This year, why not make your own St. Patrick’s Day decor instead?
You can make this Cute Clover Centerpiece below for just pennies, and the end result is a centerpiece you and your guests will marvel over. Add them to your table along with your delicious St. Patrick’s Day recipe for a fun presentation! Take a peek below how easy and inexpensive it is to create your own. Even those who aren’t typically crafty will find this DIY project a breeze.
Thrifty St. Patrick’s Day Decor: Cute Clover Centerpiece
Supplies needed:

- White favor bucket
- Green pipe cleaners
- Assorted St. Patrick’s Day scrapbook paper
- Scissors
- Tape
- Dried rice or beans
We were able to find the small white favor buckets, green pipe cleaners, and rice at our local dollar store. The buckets could be found in the wedding supply section as they are typically used as mint cups and bridal favors. St. Patrick’s Day scrapbook paper was at our local craft store for around .25 cents per piece. With all of these supplies, we could make quite a few of these centerpieces, which is ideal if you need these for a party or to use as favors!
Directions:
1. Begin by snipping the clover shapes out of your scrapbook paper. We just did ours by freehand but you can use a stencil or pattern if you wish. Like real clovers, they don’t need to be perfect and symmetrical.
2. Cut the pipe cleaners down into shorter lengths. You can make each length a little longer from the next so they look natural.
3. Tape the paper clovers to the pipe cleaners. Just lay the clover over the top and add some tape on the back.
4. Fill the white favor bucket with rice or beans. This will help hold your stems in place.
5. Place the stems in the bucket. Press them down so they are secure.
You can now embellish the bucket if you wish. Add stickers, glitter, ribbon, etc. Or you can leave it plain and enjoy a more simple statement. How sweet are these cute clover centerpieces? Place one on each table at your next spring gathering, give them as favors, or just whip some of these up with the kids. They are so easy to make.
Gather your supplies and give this thrifty St. Patrick’s Day decor project a try. It is one St. Patrick’s Day craft that you are sure to love and so will your budget. If you want to add more St. Patrick’s Day decor to your home, head to your local Dollar Tree. While many stores tend to forget about St. Patrick’s Day, Dollar Tree has a great selection!
