Pregnancy Announcement Ideas With Siblings

“Only Child Expiring”:  Use this phrase with the due date of the new baby on a chalkboard or sign for an older sibling to hold.  This is a cute way to share that you are expecting a new baby while involving the older sibling in the process.

“Fishing For A Sister. Hunting For A Brother”:  This cute slogan is great on a sign with the due date for an older sibling to stand by or hold up.  A cute way of announcing a new baby on the way and including an older sibling in the image.

“Being Promoted To Big Brother/Sister”:  Add the due date and this message to a sign and let your older child sit or stand by it.  This is a super cute way to share with grandparents at a distance.

Create A Slide Show Or Photo Strip:  Take pictures of the older sibling holding up signs that chance in each shot to show that they are about to be a big sibling. This is great if you can print as a photo strip to share with friends and family.  Make sure they make silly faces with each new shot to reflect the news and excitement.

Sidewalk Chalk Picture Announcement:  Sit yourself and your kids behind sidewalk chalk numbers showing how many weeks or months old the kids are, including the one you are pregnant with.  This is a super cute way to leave people guessing for a few minutes before they get the picture behind the picture.

Game Player One And Two:  Dress your child in a game character costume (Mario was the example in the link).  Put a sign above them that says, “Game Player One”, and a sign next to them that says, “Game Player Two Starts” and include the due date.  This is an especially fun pregnancy announcement idea with siblings for a family that loves video games.

Love them! I actually made a shirt for my son using the Superman logo that said “Big Brother 2014” to announce my youngest. :)

  2. This is soooo cute – I never had to deal with it – but, I can see that these are great ideas to involve the whole family looking forward to the big event – I have seen my cousins go through a rough time and heard about my own mom when they were little not liking the idea of a new ‘rival’ in their eyes!

I love these pregnancy announcements. It would be so fun to do these with the kids. I wish i would have done this when my kids were little.

  4. These are all so cute. I’ve never done anything fun to announce a pregnancy… But I have for a gender reveal. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to try one of these at some point!

  5. Those are all great ideas! My daughter just wore an I’m the Big Sister shirt. My mom looked at her and smiled and said “that’s a nice shirt.” It went right over her head. We had to then tell her that we were pregnant lol.

  6. I love the “Player One, Player 2” idea. What cute and creative ways to announce a new family member.

Some marvellous ideas here, I like “Fishing For A Sister. Hunting For A Brother” best I think. :-)
