Looking for a fun way to teach kids from ages 5-12 everything they need to know about math? You’re going to love Zapzapmath. It’s so fun, even I’m addicted to it! I’ll tell you all about my favorite features, but first, let me share a little story.
Ever try to teach your kids math when you have a complicated relationship with the subject yourself? Trust me, it’s not easy. My son started cyber school this year and while he does have a team of remote teachers, I learned one very important thing early on: I am his primary teacher. Me. Just me. Yes, that remote team checks in frequently and they’re always willing and able to answer our questions, but the day to day instruction falls squarely on my head.
Now, when it comes to teaching my son subjects like social studies and language arts, I’m totally up for the challenge. I am a very right-brained person and love the humanities. I’m even pretty decent at science, even though I struggled with it a bit when I was in school. Math, however, is where I fall short. Way short. My son is learning things that, quite frankly, I never really mastered as an adult, let alone a child. I needed something that would make learning math fun for him AND me! That’s where Zapzapmath really shines!
Teach kids (and yourself!) math the fun way with Zapzapmath!
Zapzapmath is an incredibly robust learning app designed for kids from grades K-6. It covers 180 math topics, from basic addition and subtraction all the way up ratios and geometry. I’ll be honest, I’ve downloaded and deleted numerous math apps because they just weren’t engaging enough. If I’m bored after two minutes, my son won’t even make it off the logo splash screen!
Zapzapmath is different because it includes over 150 interactive games that are actually fun! The games test four different skills, including: training, accuracy, speed, and mission. Let’s talk about those for a minute.
- Training: This is your first stop if your kids need a bit of practice on a new skill they just learned in class. It’s also a good spot for YOU to refresh your memory if need be! I played the geometry training, since my son will be covering that very soon in school.
- Accuracy: Once your kids are done practicing, they can move on to testing out their new skills in a low-stress, non-competitive environment with fun games that test what they know.
- Speed: Timed math quizzes are popular in elementary school, especially as part of the Common Core program. I’m not a huge fan of them, but they’re here to stay, so our kids need to know how to zip through a series of math problems lightning fast. The Speed-based games are way more fun than a worksheet of problems!
- Mission: These games are my favorite because they really give kids a reason to keep playing and practicing. As kids master different missions, they’ll earn coins to help them build up their spaceship and unlock new planets to visit.
All the games in each skill level do have one thing in common: they’re fun! The fast-paced games have high replay value, so your kids can play again and again. The self-paced, engaging learning environment really helps build your child’s confidence and gets them excited about learning.
Zapzapmath recently added a few very cool new features that both you and your kids will love! The games now have an adaptive learning feature, meaning that they automatically adapt to your child’s level of mastery. That way, games aren’t too hard for new players or too easy for pros.
Kids can also choose a competitive multiplayer mode and challenge their friends in a battle of math skills. They can check the leaderboard to find out where they stand. Zapzapmath has also added new planets and really streamlined their menu.
As a parent or educator, you can track your child’s performance through the Web Dashboard and determine which areas they may need extra help in.
Find Zapzapmath in the App Store or Google Play Store. You can also play online through Chromebooks or the Chrome browser. For younger kids (pre-K to K) check out our review of Zap Zap Kindergarten Math!

Make one confident in math class!
Sounds like a great app. My daughter is only 3, but we are teaching her to add, so this could be a great step for her.
I love that it has such a range of ages/grades. I also like how fun it looks!
I dont have kids but I remember loving math games such as this growing up on the computer. I have a few friends with children who I know would love Zapzapmath. Thanks for the recommendation!
I love anything that makes learning fun. Especially with my least favorite subject. I’ll have to check this out.
This is pretty awesome! It’s great that there are apps that actually teach you something. It is a fun way to get your kid to learn!
I have had a terrible relation with math, so I can understand what you mean. But, Zapzapmath looks like the perfect little app to help your kid work with math in a fun way.
It would definitely be difficult for someone to teach Maths if they have a complicated relationship with Maths themselves. That I can agree on but luckily the Zapzapmath sounds like the perfect app and portal to make maths fun. And that is coming from someone that is terrible with numbers! x
WOW how things have changed from when I was in school! This looks incredible! I just love all of the colors. Everything about this app screams FUN! Which is awesome, since we can all have a negative connotation when we think of math.. awesome awesome app.
I like that that it covers such a wide range of math topics all the way up to 6th grade. Most games like these only go up to simple math.
My daughter is in 2nd grade and loves learning math. I think she would have a blast with this!
This looks like a great app to help both parents and children breeze through math. There have been so many different new lessons in math that what was taught to us when we were young are not applicable anymore at this day and time. I will suggest this to my sister.
This is a great math app for sure. Our kids love playing it on their iPads! Can’t wait to see what they come out with next.
This sounds like a great app for learning math. I love apps that make learning fun.
I love that this makes learning math fun. Plus I could use a refresher on some math so I think I’ll try it too.
This looks amazing! I have always been bad with numbers, but this will change everything!
I am horrible with math, so it’s nice to see that there is a fun and educational app to help learn it a little better. I’ll be sure to share this with my sisters for their kids.
Math isn’t my best subject and apps like this will definitely help my kids learn more about it in a fun way! I think it’s worth checking out.
This app definitely makes learning fun for the kids! I would recommend it to parents! I love that there’s so much that the kids can do.
This app looks great for kids! Learning math AND play at the same time? It’s the best way to learn!
I feel like my nieces would get so much use out of these games! I feel like kids learn more when it feels more like a game instead of work.
This sounds perfect for my youngest daughter! It would be so nice to give it a try and see how it goes with her learning! Thanks for the info on this!
What a wonderful way to make learning math concepts fun! I can’t believe there are over 150 different games!
This would be a great app for my nieces and nephews! They love playing on our phones; so, why not let them play and it be educational?
I need to get this for both of my kids. They’re not terrible at math, but it does bore them to tears. This would help make it more fun for them.
This is going to help so many kids and parents! When my youngest was that age, he had a difficult time with math. So of course, he hated it. This would have been a big help for him.
That sounds like an awesome app! I want to get it for my 4th grader!
