Baby Bond nursing cover

In September of last year I gave birth to my first child – a high-maintenance newborn boy. Deciding to breastfeed him “on demand”, I literally became a human pacifier. And while it was easier to stay home and not worry about revealing too much skin during the oh-so-frequent feedings, I had to maintain my sanity by escaping the confines of our house. Out in public, I waged my fair share of battles against nursing cover looped around my neck as I tried to get my son to latch while looking at him through a peephole. He wasn’t shy about how nursing cover made him feel – he’d flail his limbs leaving me fully exposed. Even more distressing was the fact that he overheated quickly in his tent yet scrutinizing eyes around most corners dictated that I cover up anyway. And so, with few alternatives, nursing cover accompanied me everywhere.

Why Baby Bond nursing cover?

Nursing cover package
Because of the frequency with which I was breastfeeding early on, a product like Baby Bond would have saved me a lot of grief. The premise behind this simple nursing cover essential is that mom is covered but baby is not – ingenious. For my review, I chose the original model in charcoal. I opted for the model with the burp cloth attached to it because I tend to lose parts of things. The burp cloth is thick, absorbent and conveniently located for shoulder burping.
Nursing cover in use
The nursing cover is designed for shirts that are nursing accessible from the top which allows mom to keep her tummy and back covered at all times. The two-layer, light, stretchy fabric drapes over one shoulder and separates allowing baby to nurse. Baby Bond addresses many of the problems I experienced with nursing covers; Mom can always see what her baby is up to, baby does not overheat and mom is completely covered. But wait, there’s more! The box it arrives in is very pretty, the instructions are simple, the product is user-friendly and it rolls up into a compact, matching bag that travels well. My son is at the age where he is easily distracted by the slightest noise and unlatches leaving me scrambling to cover up. With this nursing cover, it isn’t a big deal since my son is visible the entire time and I can act quickly to conceal myself. Baby Bond will definitely be a mainstay in my diaper bag from now on.Baby Bond comes in three models, Original, Flex and Couture. Each one retails for $35 and has its own perks.
