She teaches them to sing while at the same time falling in love with the Captain. There are two obstacles in their way, however: he is already engaged to someone else and she is a candidate to be a nun.

Each of these good classic family movies has something different to teach kids. Willy Wonka teaches lessons about behaving properly as well as dreaming big and using your imagination. The Sound of Music is a good way to introduce a discussion about WWII with school-age kids, while the Wizard of OZ is perfect for talking about appreciating the people in your life.
