Recipes for Kids: How to Make Your Own Instant Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • Quick cooking oats
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Extra ingredients like chopped nuts raisins, dried cranberries, coconut, dried figs or dates
  • Plastic bags and plastic containers

Instructions

  1. Place a 1/4 cup of quick cooking oats, granulated sugar to taste, and a pinch of salt in each plastic container or plastic baggie. This is your base recipe.
  2. Add to it a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon.
  3. Add in a small handful of whatever additions you want. I like cinnamon and raisin and coconut and fig the best. The kids enjoy cinnamon and pecans.
