Pumpkin Shaped Halloween Cookies to Make with Your Kids

  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of warm water
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Buttercream icing you can either buy it already made, or you can make your own using the recipe from our Ice Age Cupcakes post and omit the coloring
  • Pumpkin-shaped candy sprinkles or other types of orange candy for decorating

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
  2. Mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and eggs in a large bowl. Add the water
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour with baking powder, baking soda, and salt
  4. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. A lot of recipes say ungreased, but I find that just a smidge of greasing makes the cookies slide off without getting stuck unless you have a newish nonstick cookie sheet.
  6. Cook 8 minutes (for soft cookies) to 10 minutes (for crispy ones)
  7. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
  8. Once cool, add your buttercream icing and your decorations, then enjoy!
