Summer is by far my favourite season: beautiful weather, lots of sunshine, no homework to stress over or lunch box to prepare. Top that with wonderful pool parties at our community pool and I feel like I am on vacation all summer long. But with parties, come snacks and food to eat! Summer entertaining does not have to be complicated or unhealthy, though. Get some Arla® Havarti cheese, prosciutto and vegetables, and you will please the crowd in no time.
I make these snacks for our weekly community pool parties. They are tasty, easy to make and healthy too. I find that cheese is a must in a healthy lifestyle. It’s rich enough to satisfy your cravings without over-indulging, and packed with calcium and protein. Arla Havarti is my go-to cheese, especially when I really want to impress. With their 9 flavours and loads of delicious snacking options on their Facebook page (don’t forget to like!), your healthy snacks will be a hit. I found it easily in my Deli section in my local grocery store, which is very convenient.
Easy Snack Recipes with Arla® Havarti
After a lot of thought, I finally chose the Arla Havarti Chipotle & Habanero and Arla Havarti light. It was tough to choose from all those delicious flavours. Now let’s see how you can impress your guests in no time with these easy snack recipes.
Recipe 1: Prosciutto Pear Roll-Ups with Chipotle & Habanero
I specifically chose the Chipotle & Habanero for this snack as I wanted to add an extra flavour to the prosciutto. I was spot on. The combination of pears, prosciutto and Arla Havarti was perfect. Crunchy and full of flavour! A pure delight to the taste buds for those who love a little bit of spice in their snacking.
- 1/4 pound prosciutto.
- 1 pear
- 1 package of Arla Havarti Chipotle & Habanero flavour. You will love how easy it is to open the package. I don’t know how many times I struggled with the openings in the past but this one went like a breeze.
- 1 package of bamboo sticks
- Cut the pear lengthwise. (Make sure to cut them as thin as possible).
- Cut the Arla Havarti Chipotle & Habanero cheese lengthwise.
- On a clean surface, roll out one slice of prosciutto so it is flat. Place one slice of pear and another of cheese.
- Roll and hold it with the bamboo stick
Recipe 2: Mini cheese and vegetable skewers
- 1 package of Arla Havarti Light
- 1 package of cherry tomatoes
- 2 mini cucumbers
- bamboo sticks
- Dice the cheese
- Slice the cucumbers
- Thread cucumbers, cheese and tomatoes onto skewers
Regarding the quantity of the ingredients, just adjust to the number of guests you are having.
The Habanero Roll-ups were a hit- even with the children and adults who are not fond of spices. The cheese was soft, yet firm enough to hold onto the skewers. Another delight for the taste buds!
If you are preparing these easy snack recipes for a crowd, arrange the final product on a nice plate for maximum impact. They will look beautiful on your table. I recommend adding a few extra slices of Arla Havarti cheese to the tray for guests who can’t get enough of the rich cheesy goodness.
