The weather outside may be frightful, but inside it’s so delightful when you bake up these delicious snowman cookies! Grab the recipe and make a batch with your kids on a snowy day.
The holidays may be over, but there’s still plenty of winter left for snowman fun! These yummy snowman cookies are perfect both for those snowless days and after a day of sledding and ice-skating! Make the cookies yourself for your kids to enjoy, or just build the base and let them do the decorating. These cookies are also super classy for any post-holiday winter parties that you may be hosting. Let’s see how to make them, then print out the recipe card for later!
Snowman Cookies Recipe for Kids

Ingredients
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 1/2 C powder sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tarter
- cookie sheet fitted with parchment paper
- 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
- black cookie icing
- orange cookie icing
Makes 24 cookies
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a standing mixer, combine butter, powder sugar, egg and vanilla and mix on medium speed until combined and fluffy
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tarter.
- Gradually add in the flour to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until combined
- Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop some dough into your hands and round the ball
- Place dough balls onto the cookie sheet to look like the body of the snowman, repeat until you’ve used all of the dough
- Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until slightly golden brown
- Once baked, place a white chocolate wafer into both circles and slightly push them in
- Let sit to cool completely, about an hour
- Using the black icing, pipe 3 dots on the bottom chocolate wafer for the buttons on the snowman
- Pipe two dots for eyes on the top chocolate wafer
- On the same chocolate wafer, pipe dots for the smile
- Using the orange icing pipe the triangle for the nose
- Let dry for 10 minutes before enjoying!
