The holidays may be over, but there’s still plenty of winter left for snowman fun! These yummy snowman cookies are perfect both for those snowless days and after a day of sledding and ice-skating! Make the cookies yourself for your kids to enjoy, or just build the base and let them do the decorating. Snowman Cookies Recipe for Kids

Ingredients

Makes 24 cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a standing mixer, combine butter, powder sugar, egg and vanilla and mix on medium speed until combined and fluffy
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tarter.
  4. Gradually add in the flour to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until combined
  5. Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop some dough into your hands and round the ball
  6. Place dough balls onto the cookie sheet to look like the body of the snowman, repeat until you’ve used all of the dough
  7. Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until slightly golden brown
  8. Once baked, place a white chocolate wafer into both circles and slightly push them in
  9. Let sit to cool completely, about an hour
  10. Using the black icing, pipe 3 dots on the bottom chocolate wafer for the buttons on the snowman
  11. Pipe two dots for eyes on the top chocolate wafer
  12. On the same chocolate wafer, pipe dots for the smile
  13. Using the orange icing pipe the triangle for the nose
  14. Let dry for 10 minutes before enjoying!

  • 1 1/2 C powder sugar

  • 2 1/2 C flour

  • 1 bag of  white chocolate melting wafers
  • black cookie icing
  • orange cookie icing
