Are you looking for a fun activity for the Spring Break? How about cooking healthy snacks for kids with their help. When children are involved in the cooking process, they will be more likely to eat what they prepared because they were invested in preparing those yummy healthy snacks. Involving kids in the kitchen has other benefits too: it improves their maths skills, their fine motor skills and creativity. You just need to supervise and you will be amazed by their creativity and talents.
What better timing and activity to do in spring break: involving kids in the kitchen and preparing yummy healthy snacks during the spring break. I will share with you my kids’ favorite healthy snacks

Easy crepes:

You can eat crepes for breakfast with topped with fruits, honey, maple syrup. You can also eat them for lunch: with cooked eggs, cheese, mushrooms. Your little one can prepare the batter and your older can cook them under your supervision. If you are not comfortable, just let them prepare the batter.
Muffins
They are fun and healthy snacks for kids. My 4 year-old loves decorating them with her favorite chocolate topping. You can add in some fruits in the batter for your picky eaters. You can bring them in your child’s lunch bag when you go out for an activity. If you make a big batch, you can freeze them and eat them at your convenience. Our favorite muffin recipe is the peanut butter muffin
Fruit salad
Let the children choose their favorite fruits. Help them with the chopping. Toss them together with the honey, maple syrup in a serving bowl. You can sprinkle coconut on top or some nuts.
Pretzel mix:
It is a great combination of sweet and salt. The children can help you make this healthy snack. You can enjoy it during a family movie night. Read our Pretzel Mix recipe for detailed instructions.
Preparing healthy snacks for kids does not have to be complicated: all you need is creativity and kid’s involvements! Happy Spring Break.
My son loves to cook with my husband and says he’s going to be a chef like Daddy. I rarely make it into the kitchen unless I’m washing dishes (that rarely happens too!).
My son wants to become a chef too!! In the mean time: he prepares the ingredients..
I agree that kids are more likely to enjoy the snacks if they were involved in making them. Pinterest has a lot of fun and creative ideas too :)
Pinterest is a huge inspiration!! so many good things
I love cooking with kids, they take a greater interest when we cook together. Crepes is a great idea for cooking with them!
It’s a winner at home. You can top them with pretty anything.
