If there’s one treat my son loves above all others, it’s brownies. It’s really the only dessert he begs us to make. Sure, he loves cupcakes loaded with frosting and the occasional ice-cream sundae, but brownies are his favorite dessert and sour gummy worms his favorite candy. Combining the two in one delightfully spooky combination sends him over the moon with joy! You’ve seen dirt pudding before, right? Well, we took that same concept to new levels by swapping out the pudding for delicious, ooey gooey, chocolaty brownies! Read on for how you can make this special Halloween recipe with your kids! Dirt Brownie Halloween Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 box of brownie mix with walnuts
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C oil
- 1/2 C water
- 6 Oreo Cookies
- 1/4 C chocolate chips
- parchment paper
- 9×9 baking dish
- Cooking spray
Frosting ingredients
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter
- 2 C powder sugar
- 1/2 C cocoa baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3-5 TBSP heavy whipping cream
- 1 C crushed Oreos
- 1 package of mini sour gummy worms
Brownie directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- tear the parchment paper and place inside the pan
spray with pam spray - Mix the brownie batter as directed on the box
- Take some oreos and break into pieces and mix inside of the brownie mix
- Pour into the baking dish, sprinkle the chocolate chips and bake for 30 minutes
- Pullout and set aside
Frosting Directions
- In a standing mixer, coming all ingredients except the heavy whipping cream, oreos and gummy worms
- Once the butter, sugar, cocoa and vanilla is combined, add in the heavy whipping cream and continue to mix until stiff peaks form.
- Scoop onto the top of the brownies and smooth out
- sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies and add gummy worms

Don’t they look yummy? The worms are what take this recipe from an everyday treat to a spooky fun Halloween dessert. The great thing about this recipe, though, is that the worms are on top instead of mixed in. If anyone doesn’t love the idea of eating sour candy in their chocolate brownies, they can simply take it out.
