Escalope of chicken and Grilled Shrimps with VH sauces, #cbias, #DeliciousSauces

I am a huge VH sauce fan! I find they add such a great flavor to meals! A few days ago, I went shopping for those delicious sauces as part of a VH Sauces Shoppertunity for Collective Bias! The shopping experience was at Wal-Mart!
It was a hot and humid day, I wasn’t in a mood for cooking but a barbecue recipe was welcome. Before going out on my shopping trip, I visited VH website. There is a large choice of recipes! You can even search by ingredient. They had a great Grill to Thrill section! I stumbled on this delicious Grilled shrimp recipe with Spicy Chili!

I prepared my shopping list and headed to Wal-Mart with my daughter. She was excited to come with me because she knows that I will treat her with something! I was there around 10 am. I was glad because the store wasn’t crowded.

The grilled shrimp recipe required cilantro. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it in the store and I didn’t want to stop by another store. I headed to the VH sauce aisle and took my time to choose another sauce and recipe. The VH jars had recipes on the back. It is handy and helped me choosing another recipe for my dinner. I don’t know about you but it always happens that I change my mind in the store!

I decided to go with Escalope of chicken combined with Grilled shrimp with a Teriayki stir Fry sauce. I chose this sauce because it can be used for both chicken and shrimp recipes. I also chose the Soy sauce and the General Tao ones for future recipes. Then we wandered a bit in the dairy section as well as in the school supplies ones. I was missing some school supplies for my son! This isle was a bit crowded as we were only few days away from back to school. Don’t forget to take a look at my Google+ album for extra photos of my shopping trip.

Escalope of chicken and Grilled Shrimp with Teriyaki VH Sauce.

  • 1 lb. (454 g) of boneless, skinless chicken , pounded thin ( I added shrimps)
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) VH® Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) minced ginger root
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sesame seeds: I didn’t add the sesame because my daughter does not like them.
Preparing the ingredients: my daughter added the corn we bought in the picture

How to prepare it.

Chicken in the barbecue!
  • Add garlic and ginger to VH® Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce and marinate meat in the mixture for 15-30 minutes.
  • I added oil to the meat and shrimp.
  • Heat the barbecue
  • Place the meat on the oiled surface.
  • Cook 4-5 minutes per side, basting frequently with marinade.
  • Cook until the meat is no longer pink inside.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with vegetables, rice or tossed salad. I served with salad!

It was an easy recipe! The kids loved it and my husband too! I would definitely try it again.
