Fresh tomato sandwich
If you’ve never had one of these you are in for a treat. It is very delicious and rather addictive. The classic tomato sandwich is on white bread with mayonnaise. Cut your tomato into slices and add to the bread after adding mayonnaise. Cut your sandwich in half and then eat. Makes a great light lunch or a snack. Miniature sandwiches make a great appetizer.
Fresh tomato and mozzarella
This is a very popular appetizer or even some will have this as a main dish. Often served in Italian restaurants. Slices of tomato alternating with slices of mozzarella. Lightly dressed with olive oil. It is served cold or uncooked. An easy dish to share with multiple people.
Hamburger or cheeseburger with fresh tomato
There is nothing like a hamburger or cheeseburger right off the grill with fresh tomato on it. To many, this says “summer” more than anything else will. If you’ve never had this summer treat we suggest you try one as soon as you can this summer.
Fresh tomato salsa
Now this is an easy side dish to make and so popular. You’ll find salsa recipes everywhere, so easy to customize. Most call for tomatoes, onions, peppers and spices depending on how “hot” you like your salsa. With a bag of tortilla chips or on your tacos or burger, this is a great summer treat.
