Butterball Bacon Style Turkey? In a baguette sandwich! Yes it is true and most of all: DELICIOUS! The last recipes, I used the Butterball Roasted Turkey. Even though I am addicted to the roasted Turkey (I eat the slices without kids knowing, don’t tell them..) I wanted to try something new!
When I went to the grocery store, I found the Salt Reduced Bacon Style Turkey! I don’t eat Pork Bacon but my husband does! Since he needs to watch his cholesterol and weight, I do not buy a lot of pork! He is quite disappointed! When I stumbled on this Turkey Bacon, I was delighted. They are made from Butterball premium turkey and hardwood smoked flavor. It has 65% less fat than pork bacon! Bingo, flavor and healthy option at the same time!
Back home, I was excited to show him my new purchase! He didn’t embrace my enthusiasm in the beginning: Nothing replaces Pork bacon!! (he said)
When I put the slices on the skillet and the smell started filling in the kitchen, he changed his mind! He took his fork and tasted one directly from the skillet! Guess what: he barely left slices for us! We had to negotiate with him!! He agreed to give us some if we bought extra the next day! Yay, I won!!!! Here is how we enjoyed those slices (besides eating them directly from the skillet)

First, that sandwich looks amazing! Second, I need to find this in the US. My hubby loves bacon and we need to keep his sodium down – this would be perfect!

Oh my, this looks so good! Since we don’t eat pork, we live off of Butterball turkey bacon for breakfast. I love the idea of using it for a sandwich for lunch.
