Keep coffee ice cold
I love iced coffee in the summer, but under the blazing sun, it quickly becomes a hot mess. Coffee ice cubes are a great way to keep your coffee cold in the summer. These are simple and easy to make. Just brew a pot of coffee, allow to cool, pour coffee into an ice-cube tray and freeze. No more watered-down iced coffee!
Instant Sunburn relief
Get instant relief from a sunburn by freezing cubes of aloe Vera. Once frozen, apply the cubes to sunburned skin. Brilliant! Of course, you should be avoiding sunburn in the first place by using plenty of sunscreens. We know “oops” moments happen, though!
Frozen healthy snack
Frozen grapes help to cool you off and keep you hydrated on hot summer days. Just take a large bunch of grapes and freeze for 25-30 minutes. Be sure to eat the grapes while they are frozen because if you let them thaw out, they can become mushy.
Get rid of beach sand
Nothing beats the summer heat like a day at the beach. However, when the day is done, it seems like the whole family is just covered in sand. And you know how hard sand is to get off right? The trick? Baby powder! Just rub baby powder on the skin and the sand will slide right off.
Cool relief while you sleep
For those hot sticky nights, wear some wet socks to bed. Soak a pair of socks in ice cold water and put them on just before bed to keep you nice and cool.
Relief for summer injuries
Summer injuries like bumps and bruises are bound to happen. You can make your own ice packs and keep them handy in the freezer. Just combine one part of rubbing alcohol and three parts of water in a Ziploc bag. Then, just toss it in the freezer.
Turn off that stove
The last thing you want to do on a hot day is to make your house hotter. So, don’t turn your stove on. So, what about dinner you ask? Cook dinner outside over an open fire. Just wrap foods like chicken, steak, potatoes and vegetables in some heavy duty aluminum foil and cook over some campfire coals.
Keeping cool this summer is much easier thanks to these hot weather hacks, don’t you think? I can’t wait for summer to start now!
