If mom loves to sew, give her a beautiful place to keep her pins with this super cute DIY Mother’s Day Tea Cup Pin Cushion. The craft uses a recycled tea cup and fabric scraps. Kids can personalize it any way they want for mom.

Create handmade cards.

What mother doesn’t want a handmade card from her child? This one is really simple. Just get some construction paper, markers, pens, crayons, and pencils out. Tell the kids to draw a card for their mom. Stand back and let them use their imaginations. Make sure the older kids write Happy Mother’s Day on the card somewhere. You may have to write Happy Mother’s Day on the card for younger kids. As an extra touch, you could put photos of each kid on the card after they finish drawing it. This will make the card even more special.

Make jewelry.

This craft is appropriate for teens or tweens. You could get a jewelry making kit from a hobby store. Have each child create a piece of jewelry for their mom. This is one gift you can pretty much guarantee your mom won’t have one of already. She will also be the only mom with one of these handmade treasures.

Make bookmarks.
Does your mom love to read? How about creating some bookmarks for her? Bookmarks can be made from construction paper. You can also find pretty pictures from magazines, cut them out and make them a bookmark. Got some old greeting cards lying around? You can use those to make bookmarks as well. This is an activity that your preschooler can do, you would just have to help with the cutting and gluing. Once you have glued the pictures onto the paper, use a hole puncher to punch a hole at the top of the bookmark. Thread some pretty ribbon through the hole and you will have a creative gift for your bookworm mom.

Have the kids make “I love you because…” cards.
This activity is better for older kids. Have the kids draw a heart. Have the kids write down the reasons they love their mom. This is something that is sure to warm any mom’s heart.

Mother’s Day should be more than just a time you shower your mom with gifts and take her out to eat. It is a time for families to come together and spend quality time together. Use those crafts ideas for kids to create a memorable gifts for your mom. Mother’s Day craft ideas for kids don’t have to be difficult.

  2. When I initially commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify
