Today we’re sharing a coffee scrub recipe that makes the perfect gift idea. It’s both inexpensive and easy to make, so you could make one for your mom for Mother’s Day, give them as birthday gifts or just make one for yourself. Even better, it’s gender-neutral, so it actually also makes a great handmade Father’s Day gift idea! That’s a pretty amazing little coffee scrub recipe, don’t you think? Check out how to make it!

Ingredients:

1 C of freshly ground coffee of your choice (this is a great way to reuse those grounds)
1 C of coconut oil (you can find this in the supermarket, or get it on Amazon).
1/2 C of brown sugar
1 TBSP of cinnamon

Directions:

-Mix freshly ground coffee with the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

-Make sure that this mixture is thoroughly blended.
-Add the coconut oil.
-Mix the combined dry ingredients with the coconut oil until it looks like a paste.
– Store the scrub in a jar with a lid.

If you want to add more scent to the scrub, you can incorporate essential oils. Honestly, a drop or two is enough. Think about the scents, though, and consider what goes well with the other ingredients. Your coffee grounds are going to lose that fresh-brewed scent, but the cinnamon and brown sugar do give it a fun bakery aroma. The grounds aren’t there to lend their scent so much as to lend their exfoliating properties. Also think about allergens. Clove definitely smells delightful with the mix but is EXTREMELY irritating to just about every skin type unless used in the most miniscule amounts. The coffee scrub recipe is pretty great as-is, so really, you don’t need to add anything to it.

While you can use any type of container short-term , I recommend using a nice container for gifting purposes. You can get a pack of the small Ball jars (short and wider) for about $4. If you’re planning to make a lot of these coffee scrubs as Mother’s Day gifts, you can get a set of  little empty plastic containers designed especially for salts and scrubs on Amazon.

  1. I have been hearing more and more good thinks about the coffee scrubs these days. I haven’t try making any body scrubs so I will have to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Even though I don’t drink coffee, I love the smell. This scrub would be great to try. I’m also thinking of many mothers out there that it would be great to make this for them for Mother’s Day.

  3. I love how you added cinnamon to your recipe, I wouldn’t have ever thought to add that in. This would be an awesome little treat to make my sister, who is thoroughly addicted to anything related to java ;) Thank you for sharing!

  6. I LOVE the smell of coffee. I’d totally be up for making this – so much cheaper than the popular coffee scrubs out there all over Instagram lol

I really love DIY beauty scrubs like this. I wouldn’t be a fan of the coffee though, I hate the stuff.
