DIY Duck Tape® Tombstone Makes Fun Halloween Project!

This post brought to you by Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.

We all know Duck Tape® is like the best thing since sliced bread, right? I dare say it’s even better than sliced bread! I mean, I can easily cut my own bread, but only Duck Tape® does what Duck Tape® does! Which is practically anything you want it to do! Once upon a time, the majority of us thought Duck Tape® was simply for heavy duty taping purposes. When I was little, I thought it was for taping ducks back together actually, but that’s beside the point. The point is, one day some genius figured out that you could do so much more than just tape stuff- ducks and otherwise- together. Suddenly, this awesome trend of using Duck Tape® in crafting projects was born!

As I was browsing the projects on the Duck Tape® website, I came across a really simple and fun DIY Tombstone Halloween craft. It’s so simple that I daresay anyone can do it! Since I’m far from a crafting genius, I assume that if I can do a project, chances are your pet hamster could do it as well.

DIY Duck Tape® Tombstone Halloween Project

This Duck Tape® Tombstone is based on the project found here.

Supplies:

  • Grey Duck Tape® (you could use other colors if you wanted to, but the grey looks more tombstone-like).
  • Cardboard box
  • Bubble wrap
  • Scissors

Directions

1. Cut the cardboard into the shape of a tombstone. I just did it freehand, but if you’re really meticulous, you could trace the shape first, then cut it out. I also doubled up the cardboard to make it thicker. Leave a bit extra space at the bottom to overlap so your tombstone stands up better.

2. Secure the two pieces together with a little Duck Tape®. If you only used one piece of cardboard, skip this step.

3. Wrap the cardboard in bubble wrap. I taped it a bit to secure it and to mold it to ft the shape of the tombstone better.

5. Decorate it however you want. I looked up funny tombstone names and decided on Abbie Normal, because I’m a little abnormal myself! The cat isn’t necessary, but she did add a nice touch! Anything new in the yard has to be approved by her.

Back to school means back to arts and crafts. Projects aren’t just a great way to reinforce learning, they’re one of the most fun parts of school! I actually look forward to special projects. When I started my back to school shopping, I knew Duck Tape® had to be on the list. You can buy Duck Tape at Walmart , so add it to your back to school list too, since you’ll already be shopping there for other items on the list. Need more inspiration? Follow @DuckBrand on Twitter!

guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any tips and hints for newbie blog writers?
    I’d certainly appreciate it.

  5. If your pet sheds, you know all too well how their hair can get on and into just about anything,
and can be quite difficult to remove completely from upholstery and
carpeting. In fact, with the Dyson vacuum, there is no loss of suction at
all. Shutters also add privacy in areas that require it.

  8. That is so creative of your sister! I think you could definitely make a Duck Tape version. Thanks for your compliment and your pin! I’m such a novice crafter, it really boosts my confidence to hear that!
