3 Reasons Why You NEED to Shop Boscov’s for All Your Back to School Gear

This back to school post is sponsored by Boscov’s. All opinion are our own.

Have you started your back to school shopping yet? I’m always so late to the game. Every year, I swear I’ll get started earlier, then end up rushing out at the last minute! Last year, I was literally bouncing from store to store the night before school started because I thought my son would still fit in all of his pants from June. Turns out, he grew a lot more than I thought that summer! This year, though, thanks to Boscov’s, I managed to get his entire school wardrobe in one day…and for under $250! I can’t wait to tell you all about our shopping haul!

Boscov’s is a procrastinator’s dream come true

If you’re a back to school shopping procrastinator like me, Boscov’s is pretty much a dream come true. We went to the one at the Palmer Park Mall, in Easton PA. I think it’s actually one of their smaller locations, but I still found everything I needed and more. Here are a few of my favorite reasons why Boscov’s is one of my favorite “one and done” stores for back to school clothes and accessories.

1: Amazing prices on the latest fashions

If your kids are going through an “I’ll only wear big brand name clothes” phase, Boscov’s is a life-saver. They carry everything from Adidas and Puma to licensed apparel like Star Wars and Spider-Man, all with price tags that won’t make you want to faint. While Jake looks more at comfort and style than actual brand names, he does still like certain characters and asked for this Star Wars shirt. At under $10, I was happy to grab it for him.

2. Clothes that actually fit your “betweeners”

Jake is perpetually in between sizes, so shopping is kind of a nightmare for him. Pants are the worst to buy because he never seems to fall into any size range that actually exists. Why are there no odd sizes? Everything is 6-8, 10-12, 14-16, etc. And have you noticed that when clothes say “12-14, ” what they really mean is “this is a 12 in the waist, a 14 in the length” or vice-versa? Have you also noticed that whatever size your kid falls into is the size that’s completely sold out? I was SO happy that I didn’t have that problem at Boscov’s. They had plenty of pants in his size. I grabbed him several pairs of Starting Point active-wear pants (or “comfy” pants, as Jake calls them), for just $5.99 each!

Boscov’s also has a Young Men’s section, which pleasantly surprised me. Most stores we shop at have a Juniors section for girls, but boys are stuck trying to make something work in either the little kids’ section or the men’s section.  While we found a few things that were just the right size in the kids’ section, Jake likes his hoodies to be a bit roomier. We just headed over to the Young Men’s section and grabbed a few Small-sized shirts.

3: You can literally fill your entire cart for under $250!

Can you believe that we were able to fill up both the top and the bottom of our cart for under $250? Aside from clothing, we also found plenty of other back to school essentials. I’m talking backpacks, notebooks, dry erase boards, bulletin boards for getting organized, comfy pajama pants for getting a good night’s sleep in, and SO much more. In fact, there’s only ONE thing that I couldn’t find: sneakers in Jake’s size. He’s a size 7 in men’s now, and it’s just not a popular size in stores. I did find some on Boscov’s online, though, so problem solved!

The Boscov’s that we went to in Easton had this magical place called The Auditorium. It was upstairs, tucked away in a room behind customer service, and filled with the most random things at the lowest prices imaginable. I’m not sure if all Boscov’s have that, but if yours does, definitely check it out. Even if it doesn’t, Boscov’s as a whole has such incredibly sales that your cart will be overflowing like ours!

In the end, we left the store with about 5 huge bags filled with back to school stuff. Jake got 4 pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, 7 shirts, two pairs of pajama pants, socks,  a new duffel bag, and a ton of miscellaneous accessories. He is doing cyber school this year, which is why we focused on active wear and “comfy” clothes (even though he’ll do most of his schooling at home, he will go on field trips and have “live” sessions where he can see and be seen by other students). Boscov’s also has plenty of “uniform” clothes, like khaki pants and plain-colored button down polo shirts.

It’s hard to fit our haul in one picture! Oh! Do you see that shirt with the headphones attached? It was under $15, and the chat headphones work better than some of the more expensive sets that Jake has bought over the years. I think that was his favorite find of all. They came attached to this cool gamer’s shirt.

I could go on and on about all the great back to school shopping deals we found at Boscov’s, but we would be here all day! Besides, I need to tell you about an exciting upcoming event!

 Boscov’s all-store Back-to-School event

On August 26th (a Saturday), Boscov’s is hosting a huge all-store Back to School event that you don’t want to miss. Depending on the location, expect to see fun entertainment stations, like make-and-take craft tables, delicious refreshments, school supply donation stations, and, of course, plenty of fabulous deals. The events also help raise funds for non-profits.
