Looking for the best back to school backpacks? I did the research for you! Backpacks are a necessary school item (long gone are the days of tying your books up with a burlap rope). They need to accommodate more than just a few books, notebooks, and pencils. Kids take more and more things to school with them these days! You want a bag that holds everything comfortably, without weighing down those little backs too much! There are so many to choose from, where do you start? How about right here? I found some really awesome backpacks for you! Check them out!

FOR THE GIRLS
Polka dots and bows
I love this bag! It is so simple, and comes in a few different colors so your little girl can choose her favorite. The bow accent really turns this simple backpack into something super cute to carry around school. Not only do you get the backpack, but it comes with a small purse (or pencil case) and a small crossbody to match. Check out this super cute set here.
Ultra lightweight
I am all about a lightweight backpack, books, and things are heavy enough! This one comes from Hopsooken on Amazon, and you have so many colors to choose from! Some are solid; some are polka dot and all are made with high-quality, tear-resistant, waterproof nylon. Check them out here.
Shopkins
What little girl in your life doesn’t like Shopkins? I know my daughter does! You won’t have to search for a matching lunch box because you get one when you order this highly sought after Shopkins backpack. This might be the one my daughter chooses to head into second grade with this year. Check it out on Amazon!
FOR THE BOYS
Super Heros
Send your little boy off to school as Spiderman or Captain America. I personally love the Captain America backpack, with it’s matching lunch box that looks just like the shield. No one will be asking for his lunch out of his shield! Spiderman comes with a matching lunch box as well. Rest assured; both lunch boxes are PVC-free. Which one will he like best? Get it here.
Under Armour
A great brand, and a great backpack at a great price! A water-resistant backpack with a padded back will make it all the more comfortable to lug his homework around. The inside features a padded laptop sleeve for up to a 15” laptop as well. I found this one on Amazon. Personally, I like the orange and blue!
Avengers
What little boy (or teen for that matter!) doesn’t like The Avengers? I love the look of this backpack; it is simple with one large pocket, and a front pocket. The straps are padded, for more comfort. Your little one will look super cute climbing the bus stairs off to school with The Avengers on his back! Get it here.
FOR BOTH
Emoji
Scratch that, this is the backpack my daughter will want. Emojis are huge right now! You can choose black or white. This will definitely hold all your child’s school stuff and a few other needs such as a laptop, water bottle, and cell phone. At a decent price, you can send your child off to school in style. Check it out here on Amazon.
Simple and waterproof
I love this backpack! It is made with 750 Denier Water-Repellent Polyester, so his homework won’t get wet if he gets caught in the rain. I might actually order one for my son (he is only a year old, but he needs a bag right?) and my daughter, she would love the pink one! It features many pockets and reflectors for safety as well. Check it out here!
Adidas Prime
This is great for middle school and high school kids! It has a padded laptop sleeve as well as a tablet sleeve AND a media-safe pocket. With plenty of pockets, it’s perfect for keeping teens organized. Plus the LoadSpringTM shoulder strap system and air mesh back panel will help ease the load. Get it here.
Backpacks are an important staple in the back to school shopping area. Everyone will be checking out each other’s bags. And you want to be sure it is going to hold everything your child needs, and based on his age; that need will change. Your little ones will need something simple, while the older ones will need more. Which one will you choose?
