Whether you’re planning an exotic family vacation or just taking some time off to relax at home during Spring Break, everyone deserves a little rest and relaxation, right? Let’s be honest, this winter has been INSANE! Between the Arctic temperatures, the weekly storms and the worst cold & flu season in years, we’re all a little frazzled. I know I can’t wait to take a break from everything and just have some fun! So how do you make the most of your time off? Check out some great family vacation versus staycation tips from our friends at Church & Dwight!
Family Vacation Vs. Staycation
VACATION
1. Getting away from the familiar and taking an adventure is exciting. Sitting on a sandy beach is absolutely relaxing. Whichever you choose, make sure you look and feel your best. Don’t forget to take loads of pictures to capture the memories! TIP: for a huge time-saver during your action-packed vacation, try Batiste(tm) Dry Shampoo in Tropical to tackle oily hair. The light and clean scent will refresh your locks, giving you more time to check out the sights.
2. The choices are endless. A cruise to the Bahamas? Seeing the Eiffel Tower in Paris? A change of scenery and broadening your horizons is good for the soul. TIP: check out our travel section filled with places to visit! This will give you some great insight and ideas for what to see and do on your vacation.
3. If winter still has its nasty claws in your area, go somewhere warm! Don’t forget to pack all the essentials. TIP: Get rid of unwanted hair with Nair(tm) Moroccan Argan Oil Ultimate Roll-On Body Wax. You’ll be left with smooth, soft and hair-free skin for up to four weeks.
STAYCATION
1. You can get some ultimate relaxation. While family vacations to exotic locations are exciting, you don’t have to deal with the stresses or expenses of travel to have a vacation. Staying home can be just as relaxing. TIP: Don’t start running errands–do all the things you can’t do while working, like catching up on some much needed sleep!
2. You know the area. There’s no getting lost, or feeling uncomfortable in unfamiliar territory. Take the time to explore your neighbourhood and do the things you’ve wanted to do. TIP: Check out a museum, unwind at a local park, or try a new restaurant. You might be surprised what you’ll uncover in your own backyard.
3. Learn a new skill. Most of us don’t get the time to try something new. TIP: try painting, take a cooking class, or even try a new sport. You’ll be amazed at the vast amount of new and exciting experiences that are out there.

I need something! I’ll take a vacation or a staycation. ANYTHING that will get me some R&R! 🙂
Unless we are going to visit the kids i prefer a staycations
I prefer staycations over vacations.
The only way I’d have a staycation is if we had a pool.Otherwise I’d want to travel.
This is something I should share to my bf who tends to always be stressed and not knowing what to do in vacations – its always nice to get the most of it.
Though I love travelling a lot, there are times when you think it is always best to stay at home & enjoy the vacation peacefully with your family without having to worry much about expenses & stress. At the end of the day, I think budget is something which plays the role in deciding Vacation vs Staycation!
I don’t think I’ve ever been as ready for Sprint as this year. Crazy! Ready for a vacation too. 🙂
I need a vacation, but I do enjoy staying home in peace and quiet!
I love taking vacations, staying at home means work for me to do. As for hair removal I usually go to the spa and get waxes done. 🙂
I love taking a vacation! We are heading to FL in a few weeks. But I also love hanging out at home!
We like to do both but this year we chose to do both. We spent some nice time in our area but also went out of town.
I would choose away. Nothing like getting away and not having to do dishes or clean up all the toys around my house! Lol. Away away away!
This year we are taking mini vacations and staycations. Nice tips!
I prefer actual vacations since I never feel like it’s a true “vacay” when it’s close to home. At least 1-2 hours away 😛
I like to travel as much as possible. Because we live in Southern California, any time we’re home feels pretty much like a staycation!
I love to travel so a vacation for me. I do live in a great city for a staycation . There is a lot to do here.
Staycations are lovely, especially if you live in a large city where there is so much to explore. I love the countryside too and that would also be a relaxing staycation.
I’d love a vacation, but we just took one in October. So, this summer, we will be having a few staycations close to home.
As long as the traveling and planning is stress free I love it. Staycations are super relaxing though, especially when I have nice weather!
I prefer vacations over staycations. My husband would pick a staycation though. He’s a bit of a homebody.
I choose vacation, simply because I am home all day working and raising my kids. Even if the vacation is in town, it is good to get away from home.
I go to Hawaii twice a year and all the other vacations are stay vacations.
I think both are great and definitely have their own merits 🙂
I love both staycations AND vacations. It all depends on our budget, though.
