How does the IHG® Rewards Club “Share Forever” Summer Promotion Work?

Basically, it works a lot like I outlined above. You and your friend both have to sign up or the IHG® Rewards Club.  Don’t worry, it’s super easy. I did it in under a minute!  Register Now! As you can see, I don’t have any points yet. That will hopefully change this summer! I haven’t made specific plans yet, but my son is turning 10 and I’m turning 40. I’ll take him on a little weekend getaway to celebrate our two big birthdays. I also plan to have a one-night getaway locally with my boyfriend to celebrate. We stayed at our local Holiday Inn last year for HIS birthday and the service was spectacular.

Since my aunt travels a lot for family getaways and my cousin’s drum corps shows, I’d share my points with her. Hopefully, she’ll share her points with me too! Earning points as easy as planning a quick getaway! Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

• Earn 500 Points for your next IHG hotel stay from May 1, 2015 – September 2, 2015
• Earn another 500 points for that same hotel stay to share with another member! (Or keep the points for yourself!)
• Earn from 68,500 to 115,500 “Share Forever” bonus points plus a maximum 58,500 bonus points to share, or keep.

Yes, you’re seeing that right: you can opt to KEEP your extra points for yourself. Of course, that kinds of defeats the whole “sharing” concept, but I’m totally not judging! It lets you double up those points even if you don’t have friends who are planning a trip during the promotion.

Fun Family Vacation Ideas to Help You Earn Those Points

Need some ideas to help you rack up those IHG® Rewards Club “Share Forever” points? You’re in luck, because IHG® has over 4,800 hotels in nearly 100 countries around the world! So you could:

• Plan a staycation in your own town: book a night at your favorite IHG® hotel for the whole family and spend the afternoon lounging by the pool. Pretend you’re tourists! Ask the front desk for recommendations on where to eat, what attractions to visit, and so on.
• Plan a date night out! Hire a sitter and have a romantic evening with your partner in a local IHG® hotel.
• Take a week-long vacation to a new place. Decide how far you’re willing to travel, then grab a map. Aim a dart, then choose the closest destination with an IHG® hotel. If you want to stay in our own state, get a state map. If you want to stay on, say, the East Coast, just unfold that portion of the country map. This is a fun way to find new places to visit!
• Stay an extra night: If you’re heading to a hotel for a wedding, reunion or other event, get there a day early or add a day on to your trip. That way, you’ll have time to enjoy the town and relax either before or after the big event!
