Of course you want to see the falls when you are here.  And there are many ways to see them, from boat, behind the falls in caves or by helicopter or observation towers. Maid of the Mist is the boat tour you often see with people wearing rain coats and ponchos in attempt to stay dry from the spray of the falls.  Definitely an amazing way to see the falls.  Aside from the falls there are many things to keep your family entertained here such as Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Conservatory.  The gardens sit on 100-acres and is cared for by the students who attend the onsite horticultural school.  Admission is free to the Botanical Gardens, while the Butterfly Conservatory charges a small fee.

Vancouver: This may be a newer city and lack some historical charm but it makes up for it in beauty, with mountains and beaches.  Be sure to take the kids to the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  It hangs 230 feet above the Capilano River and spans 450 feet.  It’s not just a walk across a bridge, there are many things to do on the other side at Treetops Adventure.  For some indoor fun, visit the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre.  It is home to more than 50,000 different animals, enough to keep the kids interested!  Don’t miss the beluga whale!

  1. Sounds like a great plan to do Canada vacations. It helps our own economy and we have so much to see right here in Canada! I really want to go to Niagara Falls, on my list of places I want to go.

  2. We absolutely love Canada! I would encourage any of your readers to visit. We have spent a couple weeks there for the past two summers for ministry and vacation. The Toronto Zoo is great as is Niagara Falls. I would encourage folks to look for lesser known attractions as well. Peterborough hosts a great little zoo with an enormous playground all for free. The worlds largest lock lift is also located in Peterborough and is fascinating. Thanks for a great post.

  3. Niagara Falls pics are spectacular this year! Too bad they come as a result of the nasty cold winter! We too often think of leaving the province for vacations- thanks for the great tips!

  4. I just heard this morning that Niagra Falls is frozen. I am only about 4 hours away and would love to take a ride up there to see it! Imagine how cool that would be. With only bitter cold temps and no snow, maybe we will take a ride this weekend. Thanks for the great idea! :) Oh… I have family in Canada..Love going up and visiting – great shopping!

  5. I would love to visit Canada! In fact my husband and I have often talked about moving to Canada simply because of affordable health care and the length of maternity leave mothers have. Anyway the falls would be amazing to see! Thanks for the inspiration, maybe we will venture up there sometime in the next few years.
