This summer, my family and I took our first major road trip!: 6,000 km (about 3728 miles) in 18 days: From Montreal to Florida. We are still unwinding from this beautiful trip and I am slowly sharing with you our experience, photos and visits. One of our favorite stops was at SeaWorldOrlando. I was looking forward to this visit as my last one was 14 years ago where I visited SeaWorld SandDiego. I was looking forward to the Shamu shows as I was impressed by them.
Usually when we visit theme parks with kids, we do not take the time to watch shows as roller coasters are usually the main attraction. But it was different with SeaWorld. Our main goal was to watch the shows as they are quite entertaining and impressive. It’s not often you get to watch a sea lion dancing!
The park hours are from 9am to 7pm. We arrived in the late afternoon as it was a very hot and humid day! The parking lot was numbered, make sure that you take down the number so you won’t have to search for it after.
SeaWorldOrlando favorite shows
Our favorite shows were the Sea Lions Tonite and Shamu Rocks
The Sea Lions shows is a comedy featuring Sea Lions and 4 performers. The Sea Lion was mimicking the performer, splashing them. My favorite moment was when the Sea Lion gave a kiss to the performer. It was so cute and quite hilarious. Make sure to watch it next time you visit as you will be guaranteed a lot of fun!
Our second favorite show was the Shamu Rocks . The show starts late night with great flash lights. The show started later than expected because there was a risk of thunderstorm and the performer didn’t want to risk Shamu’s safety, which I understand. Fortunately, the kids were patient enough to wait and watch the show. It was spectacular. The lights, the Shamu dance, the soaking! It is a must see show! You don’t want to miss a minute.
To get most of the shows:
-
Make sure to arrive 15 minutes before it starts to get a good seat.
-
Plan your shows: some shows overlap but some of them are ran through the day. Planning is key!
-
Make sure to involve the kids in the planning! My daughter is only 4. She really enjoyed the SeaLions because it was funny! She was a bit scared at the Shamu because it was dark at first!
SeaWorld: a great theme park to learn about animals and admire them
One of the highlights of this theme park is the animal discovery! They are everywhere! You can admire them and learn about them. You can either watch them in exhibits such as the Shark encounter or aquarium! Or even watch them while wandering in the park (such as the Flamingos). My kids (and even me) were impressed by the underwater view tunnels. We felt like we were diving in the sea. Unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to watch the Turtle Trek new adventure. My daughter was too scared. Maybe next year.!
Here are some pictures we took! There is no word to describe what we saw
SeaWorld Orlando also has amazing roller coaster! My husband and son were brave enough to try the Manta. Riders are taunted by a head-first, face-down inverted nosedive! I won’t spoil the rest. Just try it.
SeaWorld Orlando: a great theme park to relax, learn, have fun and have thrills. Make sure to pay a visit!
Disclosure: we received free tickets. No compensation was received.
What beautiful pics! Gotta love Seaworld. I haven’t been there since I was 12, but I want to bring my boys one day.
I love Sea World. In fact my kids- ages 3 & 5- have preferred Sea World to Disney World when we have visited Orlando. There is so much for small kids to do there. You also get two days admission for the price of one day.
I’m hoping to plan a trip to Orlando soon and would love to visit Sea World! I remember going there as a kid and having a blast!
I haven’t been to Sea World in so long, (went to the one in Hawaii years ago) but your trip looks like it was amazing! LOVE your pictures, and I’m going to have to think about taking our family… our boys would love it.
:)
We live closer to Sea World San Diego and love it! Hoping to visit SW Orlando when we visit next summer.
I took my 2 year old son to Sea World Orlando in March and he LOVED it. I wish we had more time to spend there – it’s such a great park!
