Burnbrae Farms Visit: Can’t Wait to Relive Childhood Memories #BBFFarmTour

I am a city girl. I was born and raised in the city. I love everything about the city: the buzz, the people, the facilities.  I also love to visit small towns and farms. When I was young, I used to spend my summer holidays at my grandparents farm. They mainly had fruit trees, but they also had a few chickens. Since I am an early riser, I woke up around 5 am to pick up the fresh eggs from the hens. What a lovely feeling:  a warm egg in your hand and picking it gently from under the chicken.

Twenty years later, I still feel that in my hand now when I think about this. And those eggs: they were the best ever. I don’t know why they tasted better but those eggs were really delicious. I cannot wait to feel that again with my upcoming Burnbrae farm tour. I will be visiting their farm along with some amazing Canadian bloggers.

Burnbrae Farms tour: Why I am looking forward to this trip

First, I love that Burnbrae Farms is a family business. Did you know that they have been farming since 1893? I love the idea of supporting a family-run farm with such a rich history.  It will be fascinating to learn about Burnbrae Farms and where our food comes from. I like feeling that connection and sharing it with my family and you. It also reminds me of my grandparent’s farm but on a larger scale. My grandpa only had a few chickens and lots of fruit trees. He did not have horses and I am so looking forward to seeing a horse up close! Maybe we can ride one!

I am looking forward to it as it will be a throw-back to my childhood. I am looking forward to touching a chicken again. I am looking forward to having that warmth in my hand when I touch a fresh egg. Words cannot describe how lovely and welcoming it is to feel. As a foodie and a mom looking for new ways to cook, I will be learning new ways to cook with eggs as well as their nutritional aspect. You shared with us a while ago 20 ways to cook with eggs and I am looking forward to learning other ways to cook them. I will be sharing those new findings with you!

Since Burnbrae Farms is located in Eastern Ontario, I am excited to visit that part of the country. I have never been there before. Who knows, maybe I could organize a family trip to this region after! All in all, it’s going to be an exciting trip. I can’t wait to share it with you! 1. wow, that farm looks so beautiful. i can’t wait to see more about your trip. we go to local farms all the time, both my girls love it especially this time of year as the berries come into season.

  2. That sounds like a cool opportunity. Coming from a land of farms (Iowa) it’s interesting to see the differences in types of farms. Family run vs corporate are distinctly different. Enjoy your trip!
