Massachusetts for Music Lovers

From the start of this campaign, I wondered how I could work my favorite Boston punk band into the mix! Well, here’s how!  If you’re a fan of good, energetic Irish punk music, one show you cannot miss is the Dropkick Murphys’ St. Patrick’s Day show! This isn’t a show for the kids, but it’s something that is high up on my bucket list. I’ve seen the band live four times, but never in their hometown. I hear it’s quite an amazing show!

Not a punk rock girl at heart? Well, you’re still in luck, because Boston is home to a wide variety of music. If a relaxing symphony is more your tune, check out the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the historic symphony hall. Prefer something a little more modern? Peruse the lineup at the Bank of America Pavilion on the beautiful Boston Harbor to see who is playing while you’re in town.

A Theater Fan’s Dream

If theater is more up your alley, you’ll find plenty of that throughout Massachusetts. Shakespeare fans will love checking out the bard’s plays at Shakespeare and Company in Western Massachusetts. Comedy lovers can catch a show at Boston University’s Huntington Theater. Want to be among the first to take a peek at the work of emerging playwrights? Head to the Gloucester Stage Company! The Cape Playhouse in Dennis is perfect if you want a good mix of styles, as they offer everything from mysteries to musicals.

Finest of Fine Arts

Do you love exploring art museums and discovering stunning new images to inspire your own creative side? You’ll have a hard time choosing which of the many Massachusetts art galleries and museums to visit! Mass MoCA in North Adams is perfect for those who enjoy something a little on the modern, psychedelic side. Looking for more traditional arts? How about the Norman Rockwell Museum? It doesn’t get more traditional than that! Kids will love exploring the Boston Children’s Museum and getting hands-on with everything from science to culture.

Get inspired by natural beauty

The secret garden bench is a great place to relax and get inspired!

Llooking for inspiration for your next masterpiece painting? Need a quiet place to write the next bestselling novel? Massachusetts has plenty of natural “art” to inspire you! I can’t think of a more serene place to brainstorm my next idea than on the Secret Garden Bench in the Tower Hill Botanic Garden. The wonderful thing about Massachusetts is that you never have to travel far to find a stunning view!

What is your favorite way to enjoy the fine arts? Do you prefer museum hopping? Love the sounds of a symphony orchestra? Or will I see you in the mosh pit one of these St. Patrick’s Days? Whatever makes your heart sing, you’ll find it in Massachusetts.

  1. Oh, we love Massachusetts! The first time I went, I was in my early teens. I was in love with NKOTB and convinced myself that if we went on a family trip to Boston and surrounding area, I would meet up with Jordan Knight somehow. LOL! I never did bump into the guys from NKOTB, but fell in love with Massachusetts!
