Do you know what happens when you have major surgery and can’t clean your bathroom for like two weeks? Bad things, that’s what! I recently had surgery that pretty much had me down and out for a week. Then, just when I thought I was ready to spring back into normal activities, I got an infection that put me down for another week! I’m a single mom to a 9-year-old boy. While my mom helps quite a bit, she was so busy helping me take care of Jake and running back and forth to the hospital that she really didn’t have time to clean my bathroom for me either.

By the time I was feeling up to actually cleaning a bit, my bathroom looked like a whirlwind went through it. I even had cling wrap sitting on the sink from when I had to wrap my incisions to take a shower! Clutter is easy to clean, I just put things away and that was done. The beating that my sink took, though, required a little more thought. Thank goodness for Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover!

See, my bathroom is like a dank, dark cave. It has no windows and is smack in the middle of the upstairs. It’s been rainy and soggy here lately, the perfect breeding ground for mold and mildew. Fortunately, I didn’t have to deal with mold, but mildew is a common fixture during the summer months in my bathroom. I really have to stay on top of it. Take a look at my “before” picture. I’m kind of embarrassed to show it to you! Remember, I had surgery, I didn’t just slack on cleaning!

Cleaning that mess was as easy as spraying the Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover (which is also perfect for routine cleaning, by the way), waiting five minutes and wiping. Aside from the waiting, it took me like a minute to clean the counters. Much better, right?

Next up: I’ll have to tackle my shower! I have shower doors instead of curtains. You’d think this would be better, no washing curtains. Those doors get gunky really fast though! Baby steps, though, because I am technically still recovering. I’m going to use that as an excuse to get out of cleaning for as long as possible! Hey, it takes like 6 weeks to fully recover from a hysterectomy!

Knock Out Nasty Bathroom Issues with Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover

Mold and mildew are both rather unpleasant, but mold can actually be dangerous. Did you know that 100% of homes in the US have some sort of mold? It’s pretty much unavoidable. Also, not all mold is green or black. Those pink or red stains on your shower curtain? Mold!  It’s important to stay on top of it. Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover contains Clorox bleach, so it disinfects as it cleans. For me, the “no scrubbing required” part was a major benefit because even though I feel mostly better now, I still have to watch how I move. Quick, easy and PAINLESS is the name of the game these days.

Since I can use Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover on pretty much every surface in my bathroom, it’s a lot easier to get everything back in shape. In fact, I think the only place I can’t use it is on my walls. My no-wax floors, tile shower and ceramic toilet are all fair game for Tilex®. Just turn the nozzle to on (yes, it even tells you when it’s on, simple yet so helpful!) and spray!

Of course, you don’t have to be recovering from surgery to use Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover. Use it regularly to prevent mold from growing and kill the mold that’s there! Remember, you can’t just clean mold with soap and water. You need something powerful enough to actually kill the mold, not just remove the stain. Tilex® Mold and Mildew Remover does just that.

  1. Each time I have surgery the cleaning gets more out of control than usual. My husband will do dishes and laundry but everything else just sits – even if it is weeks. I have never used Tilex but will definitely be checking it out!

  2. You’d think that since we live in such a dry climate up here, mold and mildew wouldn’t be an issue. I swear, though, it seems like mold is a bigger issue here than it was when I lived in Florida!

  3. Cleaning the bathroom is not a fun job, but definitely want it to be clean and germ-free when it is clean. I haven’t had to tackle with mold (knock on wood).

  4. I only use Tilex because it’s the only one that works for me. And don’t feel embarrassed about sharing your pictures because I think everyone has encountered that kind of bathroom once in their lifetime. lol. Thanks for sharing this post!
