With a 4-year-old princess, a 10-year-old hockey fan and 2 coffee addicts, we are always looking for a restaurant where everybody can have fun. The local @McD_Canada is a very popular destination among our family members.
There is a play area where my little one can play. There is a TV where husband and son can encourage their hockey and a Coffee area where mommy can enjoy a delicious fresh brewed coffee.
So on this cold and freezing night we went to enjoy a meal at our local McDonald’s and maybe watch a bit of a Hockey Game: Team Canada against Denmark. My princess noticed this special photo of Alvin and was excited to have it in her Happy Meal
As usual, she ordered a chicken nugget happy meal with a hot chocolate and my son a big Mac with a soft drink and French fries of course. My husband and I ordered a Tucson salad. As my husband ordered his usual diet soft drink, I went with a fresh brewed coffee. As I am always watching my diet, I usually take my coffee with one low-calorie sweetener and no cream. This time I wanted to give #EqualCanada sweetener a try!
So I ordered my coffee and asked for Equal. The server answered they no longer carry this kind of sweetener. They serve another brand. I sighed in disappointment because I felt the choice offered in this location is not adequate. So I asked her why they do not carry Equal. She was unable to answer! Since I was insisting, she went to ask her manager. This later said it was a company’s decision and he does not know why they changed brand. I told the server I would be very pleased if they served Equal to their customers as having a large selection of sweeteners is good for their business. So I requested to fill in a comment card but it was not available. The server told me to go online to fill a survey.
During our visit, I enjoyed my yummy salad. My husband found the seasoning too spicy. My son watched a bit of the hockey game and my little girl played with her toy.
We did not have the chance to stay long because my daughter spilled her hot chocolate and all her clothes were wet. Fortunately, she had her snow pants, she was not hurt. As soon as she did so, one staff member came rapidly and cleaned the mess! We are always pleased by the service: rapid, warm and efficient.
As soon as I got home, I filled in the survey. It was very easy and rapid to fill in. I suggested adding Equal as another sweetener for the customers. I also mentioned that I was very happy with the service!
