Don’t be surprised if your kids ask for a Pirates of the Caribbean party this year. With the latest movie, Dead Men Tell No tales, set to release on May 26th, all things pirates are back in fashion! Fortunately, you don’t have to go crazy with branded supplies to host an amazing pirate party! This is probably one of the easiest themes to pull off with simple supplies & decor. Even better, you can use some of the same supplies to create a Mermaid party for your daughter! Oooh! Or if you have a boy and girl sharing a birthday, you could host a Pirates and Mermaids party together! Fun, right?

Pirates of the Caribbean Party Ideas
Decor
No Pirates of the Caribbean party is complete without some awesome decorations. Pirate decorations don’t have to be over-the-top and they don’t have to break the bank either! Here are a few ideas to consider:

- X marks the spot! To ensure that everyone knows where the party is, have a trail that leads party goers to a red X! The X will let everyone know that their ship has arrived at the correct location.
- Striped tablecloths No one likes boring tables! Use black table clothes to cover each table and then use a red and white striped cloth as an accent. Tie the tablecloths together using a rope to give off a super pirate feel.
- Net garland Nets and pirates go hand in hand. String up nets all around the room to really complete the theme.
- Scrappy banner DIY your own pirate banner using scraps of red and black fabric! I love the idea below. It can be a bit more time-consuming than buying a premade banner, but so worth the effort.

Pirates of the Caribbean Party Games
Kids of all ages love games at parties. Here are some fun pirate-themed games that each kid is sure to love!

- Walk the plank! I saw this one on Instagram and thought it was such a simple yet clever idea! Make it challenging by having kids dance across the plank, or try to carry an egg on a spoon without dropping it.
- A treasure hunt All pirates are in search of treasure! Create a treasure hunt for kids to find certain items hidden around the house. This game can be tailored for all ages.
- Cannon ball toss This game is perfect for summer! Fill black water balloons with water, create teams, and watch the kids have a ball!
- Coconut bowling Who says you need a fancy bowling alley to have fun? Make your own bowling lanes with wooden boards. Use water bottles as bowling pins and coconuts as the balls!
