Canada Day is just around the corner! Come celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday with us!
July 1st is a huge day of celebration in Canada! Just like the United States has the 4th of July, Canada has Canada Day! Every year on this day, Canadians celebrate the monumental occasion of the day in 1867 when Canada became an independent country with its own government. Did you know that back then there were only four provinces? They were Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Now, Canada has a total of ten provinces and three territories.
Canada is a beautiful country with so much to see and do. From peaceful Canadian summer retreats to historical learning opportunities in Ottawa, family travel opportunities abound. Take a look at a few of our trips through our amazing country.
Sherbrooke
We had a wonderful time exploring all the fun things to do in Sherbrooke in the Eastern Townships of Quebec! We enjoyed hiking, boating and just relaxing together! Of course, we really enjoyed the delicious sushi too! It was a fantastic weekend getaway for the whole family!
Sacacomie Lake
Last summer, I had the chance to travel to Sacacomie Lake with six other bloggers thanks to Honda Canada! We visited the gorgeous Sacacomie Hotel, got massages and had up-close encounters with some of Canada’s most popular wildlife!
Toronto
Heading to the SES Toronto Conference last June gave me a great opportunity to take a few pictures of the Toronto CN Tower! This landmark is actually one of the seven wonders of the modern world, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers! At a total of 553.33 m (1,815.4 ft) including the antenna, it held the record as the tallest freestanding building on land for 31 years.
Old Port Montreal
This historical port in Montreal is now home to many fun family activities! They will have a free fireworks show on Canada Day. Isn’t it gorgeous in the fall?
What are your plans for Canada Day? Whatever they are, we wish all of our Canadian readers a very Happy Canada Day! Happy 146th birthday, Canada!
“Oh CANADA!!!”
Happy Canada Day! I had a college roommate from Canada. And the 1st week of July was full of lots of fun as we celebrated Canada Day first and then the 4th of July! I miss doing that. Even though I’m not Canadian, I sure love my Canadian friends and their country!! :)
Happy Canada Day! I’m in the US but I think it’s a great day to celebrate the beautiful place you live!
I never knew that the American and Canadian independence holidays were so close together. Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada from a citizen living in the US! :)
