Collecting leaves

You can either use the wax paper method or the glycerin one to preserve fall leaves.

WAX PAPER METHOD

For this method, you will need:

How To preserve Leaves

  • Take two pieces of wax paper and place one leaf at a time in between the two pieces.
  • Lay the thin towel over the wax paper,
  • then pass the iron over the towel, sealing the two wax sheets.
  • You will need to apply the iron for 3-4 minutes per side. Then, just peel the wax paper away from the leaf, leaving a wax coating to preserve the leaf.

GLYCERIN METHOD

This method will preserve them, leaving them fairly flexible as compared to the wax paper method. The solution is a mixture of glycerin and water. It works due to the fact that the moisture in leaves is removed and replaced with the solution.

For this method, you will need:

  • Glycerin,
  • Water
  • Rock or something else that is heavy and leaves.

How to preserve leaves using glycerin method

  • Make a solution of two parts water and one part glycerin, about one cup.
  • In a flat pan, add the leaves and then the solution.
  • Add the rock so that the leaves are submerged.
  • Leave the leaves in the solution for 4-6 days and then dry gently with a paper towel.
