I know you’re busy, I’m busy too. Let’s face it, that floor isn’t going to clean itself, and they can get pretty dirty. With kids and pets running around the house you may find yourself up and personal with your floors scrubbing more often than you’d like. I have found the perfect secret to deep clean floors without breaking out a drippy mop and bucket, the Bona PowerPlus Cleaning System.

Bona®  PowerPlus Cleaning System To The Rescue

I was given a Bona PowerPlus cleaning kit to give it a full test run. Here’s what was included!

    • 1 Microfiber Floor Mop
    • 1 Microfiber Dusting Pad
    • 1 Microfiber Cleaning Pad
    • 1 Microfiber Deep Clean Pad
    • 1 PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner

The cleaner included in this kit is specifically designed to keep your hardwood floors looking sparkly though the mop can also be used for tile, laminate or stone. I put together my mop, tore open the packaging and headed to my spare bedroom full of hardwood floors to see how many dust bunnies I could catch.

The first thing I noticed is this mop has a telescoping head. With the microfiber dust cloth, if you have things that are up high to dust like shelves and high ceilings this would be handy. I took the microfiber cloth for a whirl around my floors in my spare bedroom and my kitchen to see just how much gunk it would pick up, and I was impressed with the amount the mop picked up.

I then tried another test and poured maple syrup on my floor. I let it sit there for a half an hour, so it had a chance to be good and sticky. bona-powerplus-cleaning-system-review

Then I gave the syrup a good try with the cleaner. All that syrup mess and the Bona Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner took care of all of it within minutes. There wasn’t any sticky feeling when I was finished.

Next it was time to give the cleaner a kid test. I made a bin for my daughter filled with flour and plastic animals. I let her “rescue all the animals from the snow drifts.” She had fun, but it made a pretty big mess that is similar to when I bake in the kitchen with her. bona-powerplus-cleaning-system-review

Then it was time to give the Bona Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner a shot at removing that flour film. They aren’t kidding that this is Bona’s most powerful cleaner yet! The cleaner bubbles a little when you spray it (this cleaner has an oxygenated formula), and within 10 minutes the floor was sparkling. What the bubbles were not able to clean, the deep clean microfiber pad was able to scrub away.

Since I did not use any other towels to clean and had a very big mess of flour it took both pads to clean the flour. Normally I would sweep up the bulk of the mess first, so one pad would have more than cleaned the mess. Between the cleaner and the microfiber pad, all that grime was gone. In fact, my floors look better than they usually do.

After the mop had passed the flour test, I gave my kitchen floors a good mopping so now they sparkle too. Beautiful! If you want to get your bottle of Bona Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner or this handy Microfiber mop, you can pick one up at Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, ACE Hardware and True Value.

  1. Not sure what makes a bigger mess, the kids or the dog. Either way, it’s good to know what won’t waste my time by not getting the job done. I love Bona on my hardwood floors. It’s so simple to use & never lets me done.

  2. I will have to give this cleaning system a try. I have been looking for a new way to clean my wood floors.

  3. Ugghhh…I deal with pet hair. All over. I thought it was bad with one dog and then we welcomed a long haired kitty into our home. I think he leaves a clump of fur behind with each step he takes.

  4. We have laminate floors and absolutely love them, but with three kids and a dog, we deal with plenty of messes. I think this cleaning system would be great, especially for dust!

  5. Wow, this looks like a great floor cleaning system! We have five cats so it can be hard to keep the floors looking perfect. This would definitely help.

  6. That looks like it cleans up well. I’ve always wondered about Bona products. I have never used them before though. I’m glad to hear they work well!

  7. Bonnie @wemake7

We don’t have any hardwood floors downstairs but our floors get pretty messy with 7 people living here. I love Bona. Great giveaway.

  8. Wow – this seems like it really gets the job done :) As a “parent” to some sometimes-messy furbabies I’ll have to check this out.

  9. I need this in our home! Even if my kids are all grown up now, it does not mean that they do not make a mess, because they do! Any product that will help me cut down on my cleaning time is most welcome.

  10. I have to try this! With a dog and a baby, my floors are always so filthy and probably sticky with maple syrup in spots too! This would be great to help me clean efficiently.

  11. I have all hardwood floors through out my house except for the dreaded linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom hallway that I hope I can replace with faux hardwood flooring soon. I would love to try out Bona for my hardwood floors, looks like it does a great job at cleaning even the toughest of messes!

  12. I have hardwood and have struggled to keep it looking nice! I will have to try this product! I am betting your daughter thought it was awesome to make a mess and then moppet up!

    1. Haha, she LOVED making that mess. All in the name of fully testing the product right? Maybe a little bit of fun too. ;)

My floors get to be a mess sometimes with the kids in the house. This sounds like a great way to clean them.
