Sometimes the internet can be so frustrating. There is so little privacy and freedom on the web. So many of the websites you visit track you and collect information on you. Even your internet service provider keeps a record of all the sites you visit! And not only that, often there’s a TV show or movie you want to watch, but it’s blocked because it’s a US TV show or movie and you live in Canada, or vice versa. TunnelBear to the rescue! There IS an app for that!
TunnelBear to the Rescue: Surf Privately from Anywhere In the World!
Go to http://ow.ly/wTlxu now to download the free TunnelBear app and create a free account. The app is available for iPhone, Android, iPad, PC, and Mac. One TunnelBear account can be used on one laptop and two mobile devices. I set him up on my iPad right away. TunnelBear is adorable – when you’re not using his services, he sleeps in his tunnel.
TunnelBear installs settings on your device.
Once the settings are installed (with the TunnelBear app open), if you’re on an iPad or iPhone, tap VPN under Settings, flip the switch to on (green) and tap the configuration you want: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and United States. Being in Canada, I chose the United States first, so I could watch US Netflix!
I can even hook up my iPad or laptop to the TV (with the right cables) and watch on the big screen! Watch your favourite shows, sports games, music, and movies. I can access Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, Sports Networks (NHL Centre, MLB), Spotify, and more! What’s the most popular tunnel? Yes, you guessed it, the same one I went to first, the United States. If you haven’t had access to US Netflix yet, you’re missing out! Disney titles galore, and new seasons of series we don’t have access to on Canadian Netflix!
Once your TunnelBear is set up, you have 500MB of free tunneling each month. Want more? No problem! Tweet @TheTunnelBear to receive an extra GB. I did, and the GB dropped into my TunnelBear app in minutes.
TunnelBear is a VPN (virtual private network) service. He acts as a “middleman” between your internet connection and the computer, encrypting your connection and allowing you to browse privately. And he’s Canadian; TunnelBear was created in Canada in March of 2011. Today there are more than 2.3 million tunnelers (TunnelBear users) around the world, in 154 countries!
Don’t wait. Check out TunnelBear today! And don’t forget to follow TunnelBear on Facebook and Twitter

I love that you can turn it on and off. That way you won’t use more kb then you need.
I love that it was created in Canada.
I like how easy it is to turn on and off the configurations you want. Simple apps are the ones i tend to like.
I love that it is affordable and not spammy at all.
heard about it and excited to try to get access to hulu and netflix US
I have never heard of TunnelBear. It looks really great. I need to look into something like this for my family – we are online a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Browse like if you’re in another country
Wow, this is the first I’ve heard of Tunnel Bear, but this is perfect for watching Netflix!
I’M JUST NOT TECH SAVVY – LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE SOMETHING COOL TO HAVE B/C USING PUBLIC WIFI IS A NO NO…ALTHOUGH I USED IT AT THE MUSEUM THIS WEEK AND THOUGHT THAT i SHOULDN’T BUT DID ANYWAY.
This is great. I am always afraid to use public wifi, and 4G can be a bit spotty at times.
The bear is so cute, I want to download just for him. :)
I like it that its user friendly :) thanks @tisonlyme143
My favourite feature = Surf Privately from Anywhere In the World. When we travel to the US and Europe I get frustrated by the internet restrictions we encounter on our laptop/ipad; plus I love that I would be able to access non-Canadian content while in Canada.
Data compression, might save some bandwidth
I like that it is user friendly.
The ability to view U.S. restricted sites
Its a different approach on the UI. I can tell you that, the fact that it protect you and your identity is the best feature. but this has special features too :)
I think my favorite feature is that it allows me to browse privately.
USA NETFLIX
my fav feature is that you can get U.S netflix
I have been hearing a lot about Tunnelbear lately. I like that I could set it to look like I am in the US so that I could access more online.
