Have you ever given much thought to the benefits of probiotics? I’ll have to admit that I really didn’t up until recently. I’ve heard of them, even used them, but never really delved into the “why” of it all. I just knew that they were supposed to be good for your gut health, and as someone with a very nervous stomach, that’s something that appealed to me. Now that my son seems to have inherited that same nervous tummy, I’ve been doing a bit more research. I learned that probiotics aren’t just potentially beneficial to adults, but to babies and kids as well. Today I’m going to share what I learned, and tell you about BioPron, a trusted name in probiotics in Europe that are now available in the US through Valosun!
What are Probiotics, anyway?
If you don’t already know, probiotics are, quite simply, “microorganisms that are introduced into the body for their beneficial properties.” That’s the Oxford Dictionary definition, but what does it really mean? Basically, probiotics are live bacteria (not the bad kind!) that are good for you. They’re especially beneficial to your digestive system.
Benefits of Probiotics for Babies & Kids
First, before we talk about the benefits of probiotics, let’s get a few disclaimers out of the way. None of this article is intended as medical advice. If your baby or child is experiencing gastrointestinal distress, talk to your doctor. Always keep your pediatrician updated on anything you’re giving your child, including supplements. You know all this, but I have to repeat it anyway. Now let’s talk about why they’re good!
- May help relieve upset tummies: probiotics may help relieve upset stomach symptoms such as bloating, constipation and gas. If you’ve ever had a gassy baby, you know that they need all the help they can get! My son had colic and basically cried for 6 weeks straight.
- Supports a healthy immune system: a good chunk of your body’s immune-fighting cells develop in your digestive system. When that system is in good working order, your whole body seems better equipped to fight off illnesses.
- May help balance moods: While probiotics alone can’t actually regulate moods, they do help your child digest better, which means that vital nutrients that do support moods have a better chance of getting where they need to go.
So how do you get these fabulous little organisms into your body? Well, sometimes it happens naturally through the types of foods you eat. Yogurt, for example, is rich in probiotics. For babies and picky kids, though, you can consider supplementing with BioPron Probiotic Infant drops or BioPron Junior.
Why choose BioPron Probiotics?
Why BioPron? As I mentioned earlier, they have been a trusted name in probiotics in Europe for years. They’ve finally arrived in the US. BioPron Probiotic Infant Drops are so easy to use. They come with a handy dropper so you can always give your baby the right amount. The drops were designed for newborns and nursing infants and are formulated to be especially gentle on the littlest of tummies. Once your child gets a little older, you can go with BioPron Junior. It’s made with three probiotic strains to support your growing child’s digestive health. The Junior version can be used starting as young as one month all the way up to adulthood.

I would choose BioPron junior because the kids in my life could always use extra health.
Probotics have so many great benefits and are so important for kids to gain healthy body development and proper immune system as well. Will share about Biopron with my friend who has a young kid at home!
Wish these were around when my daughters were babies. I think they are great and really help kids digestive system. Great post.
I take probiotics daily but like the other comments I ever really thought about it for young children.
I have read a lot about adults taking probiotics. I never thought about using them for my kids.
I really hadn’t thought about probiotics for kids. Thanks for the info!
I dont have any kids so I had no idea how important probiotics were to infants. Good info to know.
Since I have issues with my digestion, I know how important it is to start young. So hard to catch up.
I take probiotics daily, and they have worked wonders for my digestive system. I have never thought about probiotics for babies but it just makes sense, especially since their digestive systems aren’t totally developed yet.
