It is important that kids have a diet that is healthy and balanced, especially during back to school season! What is good for their bodies as well as their brains. Fish- Fish is an excellent source of Omega-3 as well as Vitamin D. Omega-3 is designed to declining memory loss and mental skills. The fish that contain the most Omega-3 include sardines, salmon and tuna. You can grill up some fish and serve with a dipping sauce, make tuna fish sandwiches or salmon baguettes.
Eggs- Eggs are loaded with nutrients and protein so that kids can concentrate better. There are so many ways to serve eggs such as making deviled eggs, adding scrambled eggs to a whole grain tortilla or creating tasty egg salad sandwiches. Try out favorite healthy omelet recipe for kids too!
Peanut butter- Most kids love peanut butter which is great because peanut butter is loaded with Vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential for protecting the nerve membranes. Peanut butter also contain glucose for energy and thiamin for brain health. Kids love eating celery sticks dipped in peanut butter or even a peanut butter and banana sandwich. You can even make delicious no-bake peanut butter snack bites!
Greens- Greens like kale and spinach are packed with vitamins and folate. Kale is a food that is loaded with antioxidants that helps new cells form in the brain. Greens may be something that is hard to serve since some kids are hesitant to eat them. However, you can get creative by adding spinach to their morning omelet or making a kale smoothie. Or try making some kale chips!
Oatmeal- Oatmeal is loaded with fiber and protein, keeping brain and heart arteries clear. Also, adding cinnamon spice to the oatmeal can help to protect the cells of the brain.
Whole grains– Whole grain foods like cereals and breads provide kids with B Vitamins, ideal for the nervous system and glucose, ideal for brain energy.

My kids would eat most of the veggies thank goodness. It made life easy when they would all eat carrots!
I need to make salmon, we have never had it before. I have heard wonderful things about it health wise.
I can only get one of my kids to eat fish!! Luckily they will eat everything else on this list, they do peanut butter and apples quite often for snack.
The brain is mostly fat so anything with a lot of essential oils in it is good for kids’ growing brains!
