Finding a good date night movie is hard: it can involve negotiations, compromise, some begging and pleading, and lots of snacks (at least in my house!). And after you finally choose your movie, there’s always the chance that one of you will fall asleep (again, at least in my house!). With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, let me take some of the indecision out of choosing a great date night movie, with these super picks guaranteed to entertain you both!
7 Perfect Date Night Movies
A hilarious romp starring six seriously funny women who gather to be the bridesmaids for one of the group’s upcoming wedding. A competition breaks out between the maid of honor and of the bridesmaid, and much hilarity ensues. Starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, you know you’re in for some major laughs.
2- The Exorcist
Seriously, there are few movies out there as scary as this classic horror movie. What I find frightening when I watch it is the voice in my head, saying “I’m pretty sure this could totally happen…” while watching little Regan become possessed! Either way, this is a truly entertaining flick to watch, and there’s something to be said for snuggling underneath a blanket and being scared together!
Another ridiculously funny comedy, starring Amy Schumer and Bill Hader, who play two complete opposites who end up falling for each other. He’s a good guy, and she’s a workaholic commitment-phobe. What could go wrong, right?!? A guffaw-worthy watch!
I told my brother he should rent this with his girlfriend years ago. They got married shortly afterward. Just saying! Amelie is a young and innocent girl in Paris, who sets out to improve the lives of those around her… and ends up falling in love along the way. A silly and whimsical tale guaranteed to uplift your spirits.
5- Bridget Jones’s Diary
OK, so it might be considered a chick flick by some, but if it’s this funny, it doesn’t matter what kind of movie it is! Follow charming Bridget Jones on her year long journey of self-imposed self-improvement, and laugh out loud every step of the way!
6- The 40 Year Old Virgin
One of the raunchiest romantic comedies out there, this flick which helped launch Steve Carell to stardom is as funny as they come. Join naïve forty-year-old Andy and his friends as Andy tries to navigate the dating scene. A truly funny movie for those of us that like a little spice with our comedies!
7- The Fundamentals Of Caring
A fabulous movie starring Paul Judd as a man struggling with personal loss, as he embarks on a new career as a caretaker to a young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As funny as is it moving, this movie is an absolute must-see.
There’s really nothing better at the end of a long week than relaxing and spending time with that special someone by watching a great movie. I’m positive that you will find exactly what you’re looking for with my list of some of the best Date Night movies out there on Valentine’s Day!
