Season 6 Downtown Abbey Trailer Preview
The one-minute trailer gives us a preview into the news season but doesn’t give away a great deal of details as to what exactly will happen. Season 6 is set to take place in 1925, which is 6 months after the ending of Season 5.
The trailer is extremely emotional in some parts. You see Robert Crawley telling Charles Carson, “If I could stop history in its tracks, maybe I would. But I can’t, Carson, for neither you nor I can hold back time.” The characters in the trailer look rather gloomy but there is no indication as to why. What makes it even gloomier is the fact that the song, “Time to Say Goodbye” is playing in the background of the trailer.
Other interesting scenes in the trailer include Anna Bates crying and Lady Mary Crawley and Violet Crawley looking sad. There is also one scene in the trailer that shows Lady Mary getting dressed for what appears to be a funeral. Did someone die and if so, was it a main character? The good news that not all the scenes in the trailer showcase sad times. In fact, in one scene Lady Edith Crawley looks very happy while talking to an unidentified man. Could Edith have finally found love after the death of Michael Gregson? In another scene, it appears that the downstairs staff are at a church celebration of sorts. Are they attending a wedding? If so, is it the wedding of Charles Carson and Elsie Hughes?
A wedding and a funeral could both be a possibility since Robert James-Collier, who plays the role of Thomas Barrows on the show, teased back in June to Red Carpet News that, “I can guarantee a wedding and the odd funeral or two…or nine.”
The decision to make Downtown Abbey’s 6th season, the final season was announced in March by the show’s producers. They felt it was the right time to end it since it was a time when the storylines could come together naturally. Director Gareth Neame stated, “We can promise a final season full of all the usual drama and intrigue, but with the added excitement of discovering how and where they all end up.”

Oh my! I can’t wait!!!! I binge watched this last year when my husband was on a work trip. I said I’d give the first episode a try, and I was hooked! When hubby came home, we both watched it and we’ve been a fan ever since.
I have yet to watch Downton Abbey but recognize the popularity of it. I will catch the full series on Hulu!
I’m not a big TV watcher, but Downton Abbey is a major exception. I even went to Biltmore House earlier this year when they had the Downton fashion on display.

This is on my list of shows that I want to see. Sounds like a great one.

I’ve never seen the show, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I love old-themed tv shows though. It gives us a glimpse of how life was before.
