After a busy weekend of running errands and squeezing in as many activities as possible with the kids, I love unwinding with a good family TV show. Snuggling up together on the couch on Sunday evening really helps us shift from “go, go, go” to a more relaxed mood. I’m always on the hunt for a great new family show to watch together, which is why I’m so excited about Raising Expectations TV Show airing on Family Channel this Sunday, May 8th at 7.30 PM.

Why should you be as excited about Raising Expectations TV Show as I am?

I am sure by now you have heard about the new series Raising Expectations TV show that premieres this Sunday on Family Channel.  Why is this show perfect for everyone to watch?  It is a Canadian family sitcom starring Jason Priestley (you remember him from Beverly Hills 90210 I am sure!) and Molly Ringwald (Breakfast Club anyone?) as parents, Wayne and Paige Wayneys. The Wayney’s seem to be the perfect parents in every way, which, as you can imagine, makes for some pretty high expectations!

I am excited to watch anything that stars Jason Priestley!  I remember him from his 90210 days and let me just say; he ages pretty well! (You know you are thinking the same thing!)  I also loved everything Molly Ringwald had a spot in over the 80’s and 90’s.  I am a sucker for 80’s movies!  They have both grown up nicely and now coming together in Canada to parent this large family in Raising Expectations.

You will definitely relate to these 2 parents (at least I feel like I can!)  They have 5 kids (well, I don’t have 5 kids) and each one has their distinct personality and set of interests, which means they are very relatable to your kids (one might even remind you of your own!) and also seem to run in different directions at all times.  Especially Emmett, the main character of the storyline.  He is the one you might label ‘less-than-perfect’ in the seemingly overachieving family.

Filmed in Canada, this funny new show is definitely one your whole family can enjoy.  While your kids will enjoy the humor and diversity of all of the Wayney kids, you can revel in the nostalgia of Molly Ringwald and Jason Priestley. I bet you’ll also relate to trials and tribulations that come along with raising 5 kids. Even if you don’t have 5 yourself, sometimes it can feel like it!

Raising Expectations is the perfect mix of adult and child humor that everyone can enjoy.  The show, filmed in Canada, was created by Tom Saunders.  Premiering this Sunday, May 8th at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, it is a nice way to end your Mother’s Day, sitting down with your family, watching a new comedy about the Wayney family.  You might even find your family coming together every Sunday to enjoy Raising Expectations together!

Ready to Meet the Wayneys? Check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram before the big premiere!

Set an alarm, mark your calendar, whatever you have to do to remember that this Sunday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. you need to be parked in the living room with your family ready to be entertained by this diverse family of 7 in Raising Expectations!
