Also, Love to Know has a few sleepover party invitations that you can print for free. We really love these Night Owl invites from Amazon, though!

2. Decorations

When it comes to party decorations, you don’t really need much at all. String some sparkly twinkle lights around your living room for a warm, cozy glow. Amazon has a 36-Foot LED Indoor Fairy Lights with Remote and Timer.

The only other decorations you need (and they really aren’t considered decorations) are floor pillows, cozy throws and warm blankets spread out on the living room floor, so your guests can get comfortable for a fun night.

Target features Bright Embroidered Floor Pillows, which measure 24-feet long and 24-inches wide. Overstock has Oversized Plush Reversible Floor Cushions, which come in an array of colors and measure 36-inches long and 28-inches wide. Amazon features Printed Soft Fleece Sherpa Throws, which come in different colors- and measure 60-inches long and 50-inches wide.

Lastly, Urban Outfitters has Amped Fleece Throw Blankets, which come in 6 colors- blue, coral, lilac, mauve, peach and sand- and measure 60-inches long and 71-inches wide.

3. Tableware

Tableware is another item that you don’t necessarily need, but it is still nice to have.

For your table centerpiece, 1-800-Flowers has Fresh Floral Cocktails, which are bouquets of fresh flowers that sit inside oversized martini glasses. You can choose from Girls Night Out Bouquet, Sangria Bouquet or Lemon Martini Bouquet. Amazon has a Bright Pink Plastic Tableware Kit, which has enough dinner and dessert plates, napkins, cups and cutlery, for 24 guests. The kit also includes a table cover.

4. Food & Drink

Pajama parties are really all about munchies and snacks. However, if you’re looking for a food idea, consider a DIY pizza bar.

Serious Eats shows you How to Throw a Pizza Party, Around My Family Table features Pizza Fixings Bar Party Ideas and Land O’ Moms shows you how to Make Your Own Pizza Buffet.

Now, let’s talk snacks! Some munchie and snack ideas include things like meat and cheese platters, fruit and veggie platters, nachos, gourmet popcorn, pretzels and potato chips with dip. Try our Homemade Guacamole with Goat Cheese for an upscale snack!

5. Activities

For party activities, consider fun activities like watching a movie marathon or playing a classic board game or two.

A great idea for your movie marathon is to watch movies about friends, friendship and love. Need some ideas? 1988- Beaches, 1991- Fried Green Tomatoes, 2004- 13 Going on 30 and 2011- Bridesmaids.

Classic board games are those that you probably played at your pajama parties as a teenager. Need some ideas? Some fun board games are Boggle, Clue, Pictionary, Scrabble, The Game of Life and Trivial Pursuit. Don’t forget to leave a little free time for a little light-hearted gossip!

6. Party Favors

You’re going to want to send your pajama party guests home with a party favor, so they can remember all the fun they had! Sleep masks make a great slumber party favor. You can get 10 of them fairly cheap on Amazon. Another fun idea: make sugar scrubs for your guests! You can either do this before they arrive and hand them out as they leave, or make them together as a party activity. My favorite? Our coffee scrub!

These are just a few of our favorite pajama party ideas for adults to make your bash a hit. The most important part is the memories you’ll make with your best gal pals! Between parenting, family commitments, and work, it’s just so nice to connect with old friends and spend the night focusing on yourselves!

  1. Planning PJ party for two adult girlfriends. Since it’s Christmas time, we’ll do onesie PJs (Tipsy Elf or Target), and we’ll have fondue and watch a movie. Chocolate fondue is great for desert as you can have all kinds of fun dippers- fruit, pretzel rods, marshmallows, etc.
We’re getting monogrammed sleep masks for the guest and will have candles and twinkle lights and house decorated for Christmas makes decor easy.

I had one for a bunch of friends and it was a riot. I had everyone bring a brown bag with a crazy PJ outfit for someone else.
The rule was to get something that anyone could fit in. It had to be crazy and funny, it had to be modeled in a fashion show after the dinner and night had progressed with dessert and drinks…kind of into the night. What I had in bag was an old fashion and very worn old fashioned cotton housedress with the pattern worn off , fish net knee high stockings and reindeer slippers. Another brought a bag of dr denton PJ’s with the buttons in the back. Yet another brought a Hospital gown that was open in the back with ties. the idea was that one at the time would go into the bathroom , change into a bag that was given to them and some out and to a runway act and model their outfit. I can’t tell you how much fun we had, it was a riot. If you like to have fun this one was all of that. We finally got to bed around 3 and got up at 6 and fixed breakfast in our beautiful nightclothes and had some more laughs ove the breakfast that everyone took a part in preparing.

  3. I’ve never thought of a make your own pizza buffet. But it’s a great idea for adults or kids! I’ve done that with desserts, but never with pizza! That would be the coolest party!

Just in time for me. I just needed this party idea as we were going to throw away a pajama party at my friends house! Will share this to my co-organizers. Super excited about the party! – ANOSA MALANGA

How fun is this!! Don’t think Sweetie would go for the pj part of it, but he’d have no problema with watching movies all night. Gracias for the fun ideas. BB2U

  6. I’ve never thrown or heard of an adult pajama party. I wouldn’t personally do it but there’s always a place for a pizza buffet in my opinion.

  7. These are great ideas. Yes Pajama parties are not just for the teens. Adults are entitled to the fun and frolic too. Sending the guests home with sleep masks sounds great too.

  8. I would invite my cousins if I plan to have a PJ party at home. I’m sure we’ll be awake all night, chit-chatting about our lives, eating our favorite snacks and perhaps doing our toe nails too!

  9. I haven’t done that since college. It was so much fun. Now hubby and I host dinner parties once a month and it’s always a hit.I also like to have a signature drink (cocktail and mocktail) for our guests to enjoy. May have to whip up some of this Mermaid Punch. Looks pretty tasty.

  10. I lived with my two best friends when we were all in college so every night was basically a PJ party! Food and drink is definitely the biggest thing when throwing a get together. I LOVE Guacamole but I’ve never tried it with goat cheese better. That sounds yummy <3

  11. This would be a fun time! I’ve always enjoy game nights with the ladies–I don’t think I’ve every had a pajama night, but I should start that. I’m all about comfort!

  12. Game night or movie night in jammies for adults. Do believe some of the men would have to go out and purchase jammies according to their wives. Sounds fun.
