Paddington 2 Movie Quotes- 2018

Paddington 2 is a live-action/CGI-animated, adventure, comedy movie sequel to the 2014 movie- Paddington, where a young anthropomorphic bear migrates from the dark jungles of Peru to the city of London, where he is adopted by the Brown family. Here are some quotes from both movies for you.

1. Conversation between Paddington and Samuel Gruber, an antique store owner-

Paddington- “Oh, what’s this?” (referring to an old pop-up book)

Samuel- “Ah, this is London.”

Paddington- “It’s wonderful. Oh, Lucy always dreamed of coming to London. If she saw this, it would be like she were finally here. This is perfect!”

Ben Whishaw does the voice of Paddington in both the 2014 and the 2018 movie. Also, Jim Broadbent plays the role of Mr. Gruber, the antique store owner, in both films.

2. Paddington, in a movie trailer voiceover-

Paddington- “I’ve had a brilliant idea. I’m going to get a job and buy that book for Aunt Lucy’s birthday.”

It will be Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday.

Henry- “Are you quite sure you’re ready for the workplace, Paddington?”

The role of Henry Brown is played by Hugh Bonneville in both the 2014 and the 2018 film.

Phoenix- “This pop-up book, where on Earth did you find it?”

Paddington- “Mr. Gruber’s antique shop.”

Hugh Grant plays the role of Phoenix Buchanan, who is the Brown’s neighbor, a once-famous actor, who now appears in dog food commercials and the movie’s main antagonist. Phoenix Buchanan did not appear in the 2014 film.

5. Paddington sees someone stealing the famous pop-up book from Mr. Gruber’s antique store. However, the thief flees just as the police arrive.

Policewoman- “Hold it right there!” (talking to Paddington)

Paddington- “But, I’m not the thief!”

6. Phoenix Buchanan, who is revealed as the thief when he removes his disguise, talking to his family at home-

Madeleine Harris plays the role of Judy Brown in both the 2014 and the 2018 movie.

Paddington 2 Cast: Who’s Voice is That?

Ever watch a movie and think “I know that voice sounds familiar” or “I’ve seen that face before!”? When I’m home, it’s easy enough for me to look up, say, Paddington 2 cast, on my phone and find out right away. At the theater, though, pulling out your phone is incredibly rude (yep, even if you’re not planning to talk on it, the light from your phone is annoying to those around you, so please leave it in your pocket). Since I know that it will bug me throughout the entire movie, I like to look up the cast before I head out to the theater! If you’re the same way, here’s a glance at the Paddington 2 cast!

1. Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington

Ben Whishaw was named by many critics as one of the best young actors, but aside from the first movie, your kids probably haven’t seen much of him yet. He’s mostly played in movies for adults (grownup movies, not “adult” movies!). You might recognize him from Cloud Atlas. He also played in several episodes of “The Hour,” and “Criminal Intent.” If your kids fell in love with his voice as Paddington, they’ll love him as Michael Banks in the upcoming film Mary Poppins Returns.

2. Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy

Paddington’s big adventure starts when he’s trying to save up money to buy a gift for aunt Lucy, voiced by Imelda Staunton. If you’re wondering why her voice raises your hackles a bit, here’s why: she played Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. She’s also played in countless British films, and lent her voice to the Tall Flower Faces in Alice in Wonderland.

3. Michael Gambon as the voice of Uncle Pastuzo

Of all the voices of the Paddington 2 cast, Michael Gambon should be the most familiar to both you and your kids. He played Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies after Richard Harris passed away. Harris played the wise wizard in the first two flicks. Even if your family isn’t into Harry Potter, there’s a good chance both you and your kids have seen Michael Gambon in another role. He has over 160 acting credits to his name!

The Paddington 2 cast has many other talented actors in the live-action roles as well, including Madeleine Harris as Judy Brown, Samuel Joslin as Jonathan Brown, and Sally Hawkins as Mary Brown.
