April 1st

  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
  • Dolphin Tale
  • Kids Baking Championship: Season 1
  • My Girl
  • The Phantom

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a musical fantasy movie and is a spin-off of the 1971 movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Five children are given a tour of the local chocolate factory, owned by Willy Wonka, after being the winners of Wonka’s Golden Ticket Contest. It’s one of our favorite good family movies with a message! Johnny Depp does an amazing job, as always, of brining Willy Wonka to life.

Dolphin Tale is a 3D family drama movie, based on the true story of a rescued bottlenose dolphin named Winter, who is given a prosthetic tail after her tail needed to be amputated when it became caught in a rope that was attached to a crab pot. This one is great for teaching kids about the delicate ecosystem in the ocean and about caring for animals.

Kids Baking Championship is a baking competition featuring young children. It’s fun to watch these tiny chefs pull off amazing feats in the kitchen!  In My Girl, an 11-year old girl with hypochondriac tendencies, experiences an array of emotions one summer. This makes my list of all-time favorites. It’s the type of movie that stays with you long after it ends.  The Phantom is a superhero movie that features The Phantom, who battles to get rid of all evil.
