A little TV time for kids isn’t always a bad thing…unless you’re filling it up with inappropriate shows that are way beyond their years. Just because a show is a cartoon doesn’t mean it’s made for kids of all ages. Sometimes it’s not made for kids at all! And sometimes, even though it is made for kids, it’s just not the kind of show you want your child watching.  Here are some of the most inappropriate kids TV shows ever.

Most inappropriate kids TV shows ever.

Adventure Time-

Adventure Time is shown on Cartoon Network from 2010 to present. While this seem to be an increasingly popular show, it can be rather scary and inappropriate for kids. The show is based on a boy named Finn and his dog, Jake. The problem with the show is that Finn and Jake fight off evil demons as well as the Ice King. There was one episode where the character of Satan draws the souls out of other characters.

SpongeBob Squarepants-

SpongeBob is shown on Nickelodeon from 1999 to present. This may very well be one of the most popular shows on TV, but there are some things wrong with this show. First, the characters are not very nice to their friends at times. They call their friends names, like stupid or idiot; not something you want your kids to learn. Also, SpongeBob is one that is naïve so he hardly ever realizes when he is being ridiculed.

The Ren and Stimpy Show-

The Ren and Stimpy Show was shown on Nickelodeon from 1991-1995. I am not even sure how this was shown on Nickelodeon, with its adult humor and sexual content. The two main characters never agreed on anything and fought constantly.

Cow and Chicken-

Cow and Chicken tv show was shown on Cartoon Network from 1997-1999. This show features a main character who looks like Satan and doesn’t wear pants. I think that is pretty much enough said. Not to mention the parents are actually siblings and don’t have an upper part to their body.

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy-

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was shown on Cartoon Network from 2003-2007. Grim pretty much says it all; he is the Grimm Reaper. The other problem with this show is that at the end of most episodes, the two kids end up either dead or hurt, only to come back to life just fine the next episode.

  1. Years back, I change my TV service to skyangel for this very reason. There are some very inappropriate shows AND commercials. My daughter is older now and skyangel went out of business. We are back to regular TV but with some heavy monitoring!

  2. I have to share this post with my sister and cousin. They have young kids whom they leave with nannies when they are at work. I guess it is time my sis and cousin pay more attention to what the nannies allow the kids to watch on tv.

  3. I have a huge gap my children all stil live with us – my 23 yr old has to audit what he watches – find some of these no only not good for young ones – but just bad shows

  4. That Cow and Chicken one sounds really weird. No wonder it only lasted 2 years. I think a lot of these cartoons are actually targeted at adults, which is why it’s not cool that they are shown among other kid shows.
I don’t have kids yet, but I imagine discernment is a challenge. My mom wouldn’t let us watch the Simpsons growing up, and while I get it I sometimes wonder if that is too much. It’s the whole not bad vs what is best debate I guess!

  5. I think Hannah Montana sucked the day i heard her say ” I hate ya Daddy” was the day that I no longer let that show in my house. Poorly chosen words from big role models.

  6. Yes I agree with ALL of these shows as NOT being appropriate for kids. I can’t stand the messages they give to kids. I have banned my kids from watching them and they can’t understand why.

  7. I have seen a few of these as a kid and I didn’t like any of them at the time or now! Most of them are definitely inappropriate for smaller children.
