Modern Family Season 7 Episode 6- The More You Ignore Me

This week Modern Family (Season 7, Episode 6) reminds me of my brother’s teenage years. He was, let’s say, a little adventurous with the car. Fortunately, my parents were always behind making sure he did not do any stupid mistake! So let’s see what happened during this Modern Family episode. Read the recap and don’t forget to share your thoughts.

Modern Family Season 7 Episode 6- The More You Ignore Me Recap

Phil and Claire are mortified to find out that Luke has been arrested. He was arrested because he had snuck out of the house, borrowed (or stole) his father’s car and was stopped and arrested for driving without a license. Luke’s punishment is to work off the $300 fine that his parents had to pay. EEK..

Claire states to Phil that she is somewhat happy that Luke has a rebellious side. Phil takes this statement the wrong way and is shocked because he thinks Claire doesn’t want their kids to be like him when they grow up. Phil thinks that Claire doesn’t find him exciting or rebellious.

However, Luke isn’t the only one in the family that has a rebellious side. When Phil and his wife are on-route to get Phil’s car that was impounded due to Luke’s arrest, they spot their daughter, Alex, going into a liquor store, then coming out and getting into a van. So, they decide to follow her, completely anxious because they are starting to worry about what their kids are up to.

They eventually lose sight of the van but see it in their driveway once they return home. They head to Alex’s room and she is alone. Knowing someone else is in the room, Phil looks in the closet, where he finds a young man hiding. Phil punches the young lad in the face. It is soon discovered that the lad is Alex’s new boyfriend, a total nerd named Reuben. They start to accuse Alex of being shady and she is upset about their behavior. They ask her about the trip to the liquor store and she tells them that she went in to get ice for her boyfriend’s ankle. Turns out, his ankle isn’t the only problem Reuben has since now his nose is broken too.

Remember the duck eggs that Phil had and were hatched back in episode 6? Remember they were following Claire around for the longest time? They are now following Phil around so he is happy about that.

Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam decide to sell hot sauce at the local market but the results aren’t what they expected. To make things worse, Andrew and Simon, their rivals, are making a killing with selling their trout jerky. Simon decides to offer Mitch a job at his form but Mitch isn’t sure about accepting it. He knows they need the money but he doesn’t want to work for Simon.

Elsewhere, Jay is trying to make a video for his Titans of Industry Awards appearance. He is having a tough time trying to figure out the right thing to say and he gets inspiration from his wife as well as Mitch.

At dinner, Mitch and Cam talk about how good Gloria’s hot sauce is compared to the sauce they were trying to sell. Cam destroys Gloria’s recipe because of his competitive nature but later changes his mind and encourages her to make her sauce and sell it.

Mitch wants to create his own firm but Jay doesn’t think he has the ability to do it. He also doesn’t think Gloria has what it takes to sell her hot sauce. This pushes both of them to prove Jay wrong and go ahead with their ventures. This inspires Jay for his video, stating “When someone tells you that you can’t so something, it helps drive you.”

Meanwhile, Haley and Dylan are at the movie theater when they see Andy and Beth there. Haley asks Andy whether or not he still likes her and he says that he has moved on with Beth. This forces Hayley to look at her relationship with Dylan, breaking up with him because their relationship isn’t going anywhere.

Modern Family Season 7 Episode 7 Spoilers

Everyone is at Jay & Gloria’s for post-Thanksgiving leftovers brunch and after a conversation about the sexy and sleek house that Phil is helping Mitch and Cam’s friend sell, everyone gets the same bright idea to sneak in there and have a little “fun.” Unbeknownst to one another they all choose the same day to go, and then it quickly escalates into a game of hide and hopefully don’t get found. Meanwhile, back at Jay and Gloria’s, Gloria has successfully stolen copies of everyone’s drivers licenses during the brunch so Jay and her can buy them all a surprise family trip to Miami, but in actuality Jay has a surprise in store for Gloria, only to then get trumped by her surprise.

  2. I have never actually seen this show. Everyone says it’s so good, but I just don’t have much time for tv. I DVR one show and that’s about all I get to watch.
