Hotel Transylvania 2: All About Count Dracula

Count Dracula is the owner and manager of Hotel Transylvania. He is voiced by actor Adam Sandler. He is also the father of Mavis, the son of Vlad, the husband of deceased Martha, the grandfather of Dennis and the father-in-law of Jonathan.

Besides the name Count Dracula, he is also called Drac, Uncle Drac, Dad and Grandpa. His personality type is funny, strong, over-controlling, charismatic and dominant. His appearance features black hair, blue eyes, tall, slender build, black clothes and black cape with purple lining. His birthday is known to be October 21, 1865. His main goal in life is to keep his daughter Mavis safe and sound.

Count Dracula has several allies including Jonathan, Murray, Frankenstein, Eunice, Griffin, Wayne and Wanda. Formerly, his enemies were humans but now they are just Esmeralda and Quasimodo. He likes his family and humans. He doesn’t like Mavis being in danger, the sun and Twilight.

Dracula

Count Dracula’s powers and abilities include immortality, flight, super strength, telekinesis, hypnosis, super speed and vampire powers. His weapons are his teeth and his claws. His favorite thing to say is, “Welcome to Hotel Transylvania!”

His immediate family consists of his deceased wife Martha, his daughter Mavis, his father Vlad and his grandson Dennis. His wife Martha died as a result of human activity, hence his initial hatred against humans.

It seems that Count Dracula has quite a talent for singing and rapping as he sings the Zing Song at the end of the first movie.

There are quite a few quotes from Count Dracula in Hotel Transylvania 2. Some of the quotes are, “Woohoo! I’m gonna be a grandpa!” “Yes, yes, with the phone and the buttons and the agony.” “Quiet, this is how they learn. You throw them, and they figure it out.” “I would eat a bucket of garlic to fly with you.” “Better- like a vampire!” “You know what, he’s not gonna fly.”

There were two quotes from Dracula from the movie trailer for Hotel Transylvania 2. One was a conversation between Dracula and his grandson, Dennis. Mavis holds up her son, Dennis, so he is at eye level with Grandpa Dracula. Dennis tells his grandfather, “Blah Blah Blah.” Grandpa Dracula (dropping his smile to a frown) responds with “I don’t say Blah Blah Blah.” The other quote from the movie trailer is when Count Dracula has sung a lullaby that causes Mavis and Dennis to fall asleep. He simply says, “Still works!”

Friends of Count Dracula in Hotel Transylvania 2

As mentioned above, Count Dracula has a few great allies in his (literally) dark world. These include:

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is probably Dracula’s oldest and dearest friend. They would do anything and everything for each other. He is often referred to as just Frank, especially by Dracula and Mavis, who calls him her favorite Uncle Frank. Frank is a hard-working oversized man with a heart of gold. In the past, Frank did frighten the villagers but has not done so in quite some time. He is married to Eunice and thinks of Dracula and Mavis as his adoptive family.

Eunice

Eunice is the wife of Frankenstein and also a good friend of Dracula. However, their relationship may seem a bit complicated but they are friends nonetheless. Eunice often gets feisty with Dracula when she discovers that he is allowing her to venture out in the world. She also gets upset with him when he says that he isn’t sure that humans are so bad now. However, in the end she seems to look past it.

Wayne

Wayne is a werewolf and one of Dracula’s best friends. They have known each other for a long time and he is considers Dracula to be an uncle to his kids. Although they are good friends, Dracula does find the fact that Wayne is constantly miserable because of all the kids he has to be quite funny.

Wayne

Wanda

Wanda and Dracula really don’t have the best friendship in the world but they are still friends nonetheless. You really don’t see much of their friendship in the movies due to the fact that Wanda is always in a state of maternal bliss. In fact, she is so buried in maternal bliss that she never sees the chaos that her kids cause. Wanda is constantly touching her stomach since she is pregnant a lot.

Griffin

Dracula and Griffin are really good friends. Griffin loves nothing more than to constantly play tricks on the Count because as he puts it, the Count is irresistible.

Murray

Dracula and Murray have been friends for a long time now. Every year, Murray comes to the hotel for a visit. Murray is mummy and comes to the hotel with lots of sand since he spends most of the year living in an Egyptian tomb. After he arrives at the hotel, he and Dracula swap warm greetings, after the Count scolds him for leaving the sand dunes in the entrance of the hotel.

Johnathan

Dracula and Jonathan’s friendship didn’t get off to such a great start. Simply, Dracula didn’t like Jonathan at first only because he was human. However, he started developing a liking to Jonathan when they bonded while racing tables. Now, they have a mutual respect for each other.

Now you know everything you need to know about Count Dracula in Hotel Transylvania 2! You’re ready to head out and enjoy the movie!
